Misty's Progress Thread

Maybe if I get to post about it, I'll get my knitting done even quicker!

Here's a sweater I'm making for DS. I'm making it a size 6. He currently wears a 4T, but I was worried that he would be out of size 4 before I finished the sweater. Lol

Yarn and pattern:

My progress so far:

OK, I'm working on the left front section, but I'm bored with it right now, so I decided to start another project (this darn hobby is addicting!). So now I'm knitting this shawl:

That sweater looks like it's going to turn out really nice! I may just have to pick up that pattern and make some for the girls

Very nice!

I want to make a sweater for Josh. I was thinking I'd make a 4T, since he's in a 2T now. Maybe I'll actually get it done by the time he'd fit! I can't knit though (or more like, knitting drives me insane), so I'd need a good crochet pattern. Smile

I got the front two pieces done.

Now I'm starting on a sleeve. I thought the directions were a little overwhelming, so I had to write it out in my own notes.

Yay! Now all you have left is the two sleeves. It looks like it will make a nice warm cardigan.

Wow I am jealous! Lol I started a teeny newborn sweater Oct 12 and only have the back and one front side done. You work fast! It looks great so far!

I took a walk in the evening one day early this week and my head was freezing. I have a lot of hair, so I'm not much of a hat person (since I usually can't fit all the hair *in* the hat). I ran home and browsed through patterns I had recently bookmarked. So here's what I made this week:

http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter06/PATTcalorimetry.html

I realized part of the way through that I was repeating row 4, rather than row 5 like the instructions stated. It wasn't a big deal...it just made my dimensions a little different. So here's the finished product.

Now Uther is really mad because he wants me to make him a hat, too. *sigh*

I'm intimidated now. I sewed the back and front together and now I need to pick up stitches and do the neckline. Eek! I attempted last night, but they looked like sh*t (never mind the fact that I dropped a stitch somewhere in there), so I frogged the neckline and decided to do it later.

Oh, it's great! We need a modeled shot of the sweater, though.

And funny you should mention the cold ears on your walk. I was thinking of that very pattern this morning while walking. I need to crank one of those out for me, too. Yours looks great. You're definitely a knitter now.

Uther actually modeling the sweater.

And a little fairy dishcloth I worked on yesterday and today. I'm obsessed with looking up dishcloth patterns. Hmmmm...wonder why? This was so easy. I want to make more!

It's from this pattern:

The model and sweater are WONDERFUL!

I made one for my step-grandson for Christmas. I'll go take a photo now...

He's 8 years old but this is closer to a size 6 because he's so slim. My daughter requested a cardigan.

I'm venturing into the world of DPNs by making a hat for Uther:

I'm using this pattern (anything that involves wine has to be good, right?):
