Morrisbuddy's progress thread

So, in anticipation of the KAL coming up, and watching everyone else do these beautiful projects, I finally finished my booties last night!! YAYAYAY! Party! Ahem...

However, now I really want to get started on something else right NOW, so I'm gonna start a baby blanket I've been wanting to do for ages now. And my Best Bud's gonna pop soon, (baby's due end of April) and it'd be nice to give her a matching blanket to to with the hat and booties, a whole set! The pattern is a little more complicated than a simple straight blanket and I look forward to tackling the new experience. It has a simple pattern of seed stitch around the edges, so I have to learn to count my sticthes better, and pay attention to my knits and purls. I can't wait to go to the store after work and pick up the yarn for the project. Oh, and new needles. I don't have the size I need in circular.

Pictures are coming, as soon as I find the blasted cord to download the pictures from the camera! Grr...

Ok! Finally, here we go. I never did find the camera cord, but I did find the MP3 cord, and it fits just fine. Let's just hope I can figure out how to post these pictures..

Here's my progress on the KAL, the Booga Bag. You can see the colours, too.

And the baby blanket I started just before the bag...

And (a somewhat fuzzy) picture of the hat and booties to go with the blanket. I added yellow to the blanket, as well as the multi I used for these.

And a close up of the bootie...

Just for the heck of it, a picture of Morris doing his favourite knitting activity - hindering!

Alrighty, time to post this and see if it worked!

I don't believe it! I bought some of the Japanese Noro wool for a jacket for DD's baby! Not the same colors, but really neat stuff! It's not very soft, it's expensive, but oh is it gorgeous! I'll be checking on your progress for sure!

I found it online and it was free, so I could find it here and post it for you if you like. I don't remember where I found it, but I do have the pattern laying around here.

So, I went through all my yarn (which wasn't that much) and sorted out what I'm using from what i'm not. I found out I can give any unwanted yarn to the Gift shop at the hospital I go to for my ultrasounds. They make up knitted and crocheted gifts and sell them there, so that'll be nice.

I also found two other projects I'd forgotten about! Oops. One is a scarf I was making for my sister to match the hat I already made. It has a big cable down the middle, and is made with a really chunky, funky wool. She loves her hat and the scarf is almost done, so I guess I should finish that sometime (*cough* this year). The other was a dishcloth. Not a big deal, something easy to take to those long waits at the docs office (1 hour yesterday!). So, technically I've got four knitting projects on the go right now! Time to get in gear!

I love your color choices, the hat & booties are too cute.
And Morris is just beautiful!! Biggrin
I had a michevious tortie who liked to grab the end of my needles in her teeth and take off with them...then I'd have to attempt thread it back through all the loops!

Holy smokes, it's been too long.

Well, I made some serious progress on the booga bag on our trip to Kelowna (over a month ago) and at one point figured it was big enough and cast off. Then I looked at it for real and realized it definately was not big enough yet, and finally got around to undoing my cast off and getting it back on the needles last night. I worked a graveyard last night and got some progress done on it between calls, so I hope to repeat that for the next three nights of my graveyards! That should finish the knitting part, then on to the shrinking and assembling! Wheee! I can't wait to be able to use it, my purse is definately too small now and falling apart and I can't justify buying a whole new one when I'll be toting around a diaper bag soon (another Yay! but off topic for here!:) ).

Right now, we have a new camera and I will post pics once I (ahem, translate, DH) get the software for it on the computer, I shall take pics and post them. It will probably be finished by then, I hope.

Update on the baby blanket: I haven't gotten any farther and my friend's baby is 5 weeks old now! Tee hee, oops! Actually, it became lower priority after she kinda commented to me about how many blankets she was getting for baby. I have other people that would like it too, but no one's ready to pop soon so it can wait a bit. Plus, I lent the book the pattern is in out and can't remember for sure how many rows of seed stitch to do!

Well, I've finished the knitting part of my bag, now to figure out how to shrink it. Or rather, where. I don't know what settings the machines we use have (you just push a button for the kind of load and it does everything else).

Right now it looks huge but I keep telling myself it will shrink, it will shrink.

I'm feeling really lazy coming off graveyards and pictures will come soon, I promise!
