Last night I cleaned out my boxes of yarn and collected THREE bags of old boring stuff. I'm taking it to the retirement home next week for use in their craft department.
Yesterday I crocheted a scalloped edge around the blanket I finished before Christmas. I also knitted a tiny red hat with owls all around it. (Maybe too small!)
I have about 10 things on my list that I'd like to begin right now, hats and sweaters mostly. I saved all the good stuff and am eager to dig in right away! I even bought 3 small balls of new Sirdar wool today, a reward for finally tidying things up.
Happy Knitting in 2010!!!

Sounds like an excellent way to start the year! I have yet to get organized. It will have to wait until the baby comes I think. You will have to post pics of your blanket and hat!

OK.
Here's a photo of the little red owl hat:
And here's the blanket. I haven't sized it yet so the border isn't flat. It is a crib size, HUGE! It was easy but expensive to make!

I love the owl cable! I think about projects with it but I really want to knit a girls dress with that on the hem.
It feels so good to complete things and clear out doesn't it? I have too much yarn and it stresses me out.
Though I did finish both of my projects that were on the needles, so I was in good conscience able to start a new project. I am starting the February Lady Sweater which will hopefully fit me now, later when I'm really really pregnant, and for post-partum too.

Janel, I particularly like the pale blue version of the February Sweater. It looks soft and warm!
Have you seen this?

Those are both cute!
My friend did a kind of plain jumper (dress), mostly stockinette with seed stitch edging, and the owls on the bottom. It was really cute. She wore it when tiny as a dress, and more like a shirt now.
It would be fun to see a photo of your friend's dress...if you ever get a chance.
