    Default New Wool

I went out today and treated myself! It is my b-day, and the yarn store here is having their anniversary sale this weekend, so they were giving 30% off all their yarn.

I love the dress that Marie made for grand-daughter Ivy, so I was looking for some yarn for that. They didn't have the yarn specified in the pattern, but the lady showed me some that was pretty comparable, according to her anyways haha.

So I got some Mandarin Petit(sorry, I don't know if the label is in German, or what??) haha. It's a beautiful golden yellow color, I have grand thoughts of the fabric bottom being a sunflower pattern.

I have a long time to work on it, since my niece is only 1 in July, so really she won't wear it until next summer, but hey, a deal is a deal, right? Lol. I got a ball of darker purple too, I have a friend whose daughter was born in December, so she'll be just the right age next summer too.

I also got some Mission Falls yarn, it was 40% off, a raspberry color, not sure what I'll make with it, but I got 6 balls, so I'm sure I can find a pattern to suit haha! Now if I could just find a store around here that actually carries the brand of needles and crochet hooks that I like to use, I'd be set. Michael's is perpetually out of stock. I picked up a free sock pattern there the other day, but they didn't have any needles to make it with. I'd really like to figure out how to make socks. I think maybe I'll put an online order in

    Happy Birthday!
I think choosing your own present is lots of fun. Yesterday I got some plants for myself for Mother's day since DH is out of town.

I finished making yet another hoodie for baby Leo in a 9-12 month size, so it should fit this fall and winter. The wool is two-tone light blue. His sister decided to wear the one I made for him before. LOL!
Have you looked at the pattern for the dress? I believe it starts at the top which surprised me. My friend made the one you saw. The one I made is still being sewn together.

Oh I didn't realize that you didn't make that one. Oh well, it's lovely, and I'm excited to try and make it for my niece

I must admit that I haven't looked at the pattern too closely haha.

When Colin gets home I'll have to remember to thank him for the great gifts "he" got me
