Hi ladies, I decided recently that I want to learn home to knit. I have always loved cross stitching and sewing and thought that knitting would be a fun hobby to pick up as well.

Do you have any tips/recommendations on where to start. I don't want to jump in over my head and get frustrated with it because i can't figure it out Lol

Welcome! If you can, find someone to teach you in person at a yarn store. If you can't (or are just impatient) check out knittinghelp.com

My primary recommendation would be to go get some plain wool (like Lion brand felting wool) and size 8 needles. And don't make anything. Just figure out how to cast on, knit and purl, and bind off, then throw away your first item! It makes it so much easier to learn if you're not trying to be good at it right away! Biggrin

I agree about the practicing. I did that for 10 years -- although these were also be teenage years. Lol

If you can't find a person to teach you, I second knittinghelp.com She films these from the knitter's perspective (you're watching exactly what she sees when she knits.)
