Sewing it together is slow going because of the lumps in the yarn. Normally I'd be finished by now. I'll keep plugging away at this!!!

I like this pattern alot, but I am concerned about the neck size. I took out the neck stitches and increased the opening a little but maybe not enough. Once Ivy tries it on I may alter the pattern instructions and make it in a larger size another time.

Cute sweater! A friend of mine told me recently that a rolled collar is pretty stretchy, so it might be just fine. I made a v-neck vest for DS and didn't even think about his head being too big. After I finished it, I had to take out a shoulder seam and add buttons to get his big head through!

Janel, it seems to be the actual number of stitches that is not right for the rolled neck. I tore it out and added a few more, but still not enough I think. We'll see. The sleeves are pretty long for this pattern too. I'm going to write comments on the pattern for the next time I use it!

As to the sewing it together problem, I since learned what I SHOULD HAVE done, namely remove the thread with the "lumps" and sew only with the solid yarn. Live and learn!

Well Kim, fall is a really busy time, and you have kids and a fat belly too...so I think the knitting bug will return. Wish this forum were more active though... I like to see what folks are up to.

I kidn of wish it was too. I enjoyed when there were a lot of newbies here sharing their adventures in learning to knit...and asking a lot of questions.

It seems like I'm not knitting enough as of late to talk about my crafty deeds

Maybe I can see if I can recruit some crafters from the other board I visit to come and have a look see over here and get it moving again.

You were right. So far the neck is fine. The sleeves are long. I'll mark the pattern to help me next time I want to use it.

Very cute! You could always shorten the arms since it's just a plain edge. Insert a needle in the row just before the length you want it to be, unravel to there and then bind off.

Really cute! I think that sweater pattern looks great in the tweed. Sleeves that are too long are better than sleeves that are too short IMO. It looks adorable on her.
