I was just reading about Hat attack 2008 and Sock wars.
Its a game of kill or be killed. They give you a standard pattern, that everyone knits. You get a person you are supposed to send to and the goal is to have your recipient recieve your finished hat before you receive one yourself from someone else. If you receive a hat, before getting yours off, your dead LOL. I guess you keep going until everyone is gone and there is a lone survivor? Sounds like fun!
All i have to say though...and I'm sure by the beginning of dishrag tag you already know..i would SUCK at this game! LOL Although perhaps my competitive nature (and the fact that I've learned continental ) might encourage me to finish faster.
Anyway, no really point, except that I thought it was an interesting twist on a Knit-a-long!
Talk about knitting pressure! I would be up all night knitting and then a 6am rush to the post office. Not my idea of relaxing knitting!

Person could end up with a batch of hats
I probably wouldn't do very well because not only is my knitting a bit slow, but I live north of the middle of nowhere so even overnight mail isn't. Although I suppose that could play both ways, huh?
I couldn't handle the stress.
BTW, where are we with the dishrag tag. Just curious!
they tried to get me to sign up for the sock wars. It was funny the guy said, well you'll end up with a pair of socks, and it only costs you $3 to join, and I'm thinking $3, plus postage, plus the yarn- I could just make myself a pair instead. The yarn did look pretty though. I was tempted to go buy some just so I had some in that fiber
I haven't read up on the hat thing though, that's new to me.

That seems way too stressful!
