Who's done with Christmas knitting?

I've completely finished one gift (a hand towel and lavender eye pillow). I need to finish seaming up the sweater I may or may not give Mom. I also started on a red hat for her (she LOVES red). The hat has cables and bobbles running up it. I'm halfway through the ribbing at the edge but I should finish before bedtime Friday night if not earlier. Then, I still have a hat to knit for DH's grandpa that is really a b-day gift, but his b-day is Dec 29th. Whew! I think I can make it.

Though, I should also try to find something in the stash to knit for Dad because I only have one small gift for him and we've already spent our Christmas budget on gifts. I already knit him a pair of mittens and a ski-mask in the recent years, so I can't make him another hat. Hmmm.

We don't do gifts for Christmas, so my Christmas knitting was done before I began! :neener:

This is, of course pretty much the only upside to not doing gifts! :santasmiley:

Lol I'm guessing there will be no knit christmas gifts from me this year Lol I am STILL working on a baby sweater I started in October, if only I wasn't such a perfectionist I probably could have knit it 4 times by now (basically have without tearing it all apart and starting over) The baby was born on the 4th so I really have to get my butt in gear and finish it before he won't even fit in it anymore! Lol

I was done, but then I passed the knit shop in town and bought more yarn. Let's see if I manage to finish matching hats for the grandsons on time....

I am waiting for my nieces baby to be born so we know if she (dr claim) is really a girl or a boy, then i can go to town. My girls just want pants for CHristmas, so i dont know what to make them. I think i will go on knitty and then raid our local church for yarn to make them something while they are gone for state tournament. I am a poor church mouse this year, no job, only SSI and handouts.
We cant even decorate.sigh.
But now where finals are done hurrah!!!!! I can really delve into knitting and beading and whatever.

I wasn't planning on doing any knitting for Christmas, but I ended up making a sweater for my sister (already gave it to her because I won't be in town for the holiday), a hat for DSD (shipped it to her, along with other gifts, this week). And I'm trying to knit a scarf for a friend I will see when I visit MD. But I'm just not feeling it. I freaking hate the yarn. I bought Red Heart, simply because I had to buy 6 different colors and I was like, "I can save money this way." Ugh...never again. I hate it. I'm not a "wool only" snob yet - I'm happy to knit with blends for now - but I think I'm slowly getting there.

I do not "heart" red heart, either. I am so much happier knitting with something that has at least a little natural fiber to it and is not just 100% plastic. I really despise knitting with anything that has acrylic in it. I do love me some cotton or wool or alpaca, though. I think may actually fit the category of a fiber snob, though. Blum 3
