Default Mommy's Little Hell Raiser :)

So I wasn't exactly great at updating Aidan's Baby Journal so hopefully I'll be much better at updating this one (who knows!)

Anywho, welcome to Aidan's Toddler Journal!!! For those of you who do not know me here is a little back ground. My name is Di and I'm a first time mommy to DS Aidan, born July 6th, 2007. He came into the world screaming his little head off. Right then I knew he was going to be a hell raiser lol. He started doing everything young it seems. He rolled over at 3 months, crawled at 5 1/2 months and was walking at 9 months with no problems. How I miss those days. now all he does is run and climb! He's attempt jumping a handful of times, but doesn't quite grasp the concept yet!

Anyhow, today marks his 15 month birthday! Wow has time flown by so fast!!! Seems like yesterday I was anticipating the above mentioned and now I wish I could just hold and cuddle him like I did when he was ever so tiny. He's such a good kiddo. He's always happy and, though, he does have his moments, they are not that bad. We recently switched him to a toddler bed as he hated his crib. I've never seen a child get so happy over a bed before! 15 minutes straight he just kept climbing in and climbing out, with his toy train in tow! What a goofball.

Aidan was supposed to have his 15 month well visit today but it turned into a sick visit due to a little virus he picked up over the weekend. They did weigh him though (fully clothed) and only weighed in at 20 lbs and 6 oz. He's so tiny! I measured him at home the other day and, by the looks of it, he's about 30 inches. He goes back in 2 weeks to get hie DTap shot. He was supposed to get two more (Hep A and...oh geez, I can't remember!) but there is a nationwide shortage of the two and since they are just boosters he won't be getting them for quite some time now (which is fine by me.)

Other then that, not much to report, just the basics from the weekend and so forth. Until next time!

Well we had a big day today!!! Today Aidan said his own name! DF asked him what his name was, just kidding around, not thinking he would actually say it! It was so cute He also "counted." Background on this, everytime we do certain things with him we will count "1,2,3" well after a while he picked up on it and started saying "three" after two. Well today he was playing with his truck on his little slide in the living room and he said "1,2,3!" the let the truck go down the slide! Shocked the crap out of me! He was so proud of himself

Today Aidan hung out with DF/Daddy while I had to go try on bridesmaids dresses for my friends wedding. They headed down the the Harvest Fest the next town over and wandered around for a little bit. He had quite a bit of fun from what I'm told. We also went to a "graduation" party today (don't ask!) and he had a blast running around, playing with all the kiddles. No wonder he's sleeping so soundly now!

Tomorrow I am going to go meet the newest addition to Aidan's circle of friends! Her name is Danika and she was born today, weighing in at 5 lbs 14 oz and is 18 in. Afterwards DF and I are going to take him to the park possibly, if it's nice enough...if not I will start hunting down the little stuntman costume I want to get him for Halloween

That's all for now, until next time!

Well today didn't go as planned Aidan woke up at 6am all types of cranky but after about 15 minutes he fell back asleep until about quater after 7. He's been a little crank pot all day so we didn't travel out much. I did get to go to the hospital though to meat his new friend...but, unfortunately, I did not get to meat her once I arrived. She was admitted to the NICU early this morning because her billiruben level was sky high I did get to see her, though, through the glass. She such a cutie, though

anywho, I got home and little man was sleeping. DF left to go golfing and I just bummed around until Aidan woke up. He was much happier after his nap. We went outside for a while after we ate. He rode his little bike until he wiped out on the front lawn. He was fine, but definitely had enough of his bike.

That's pretty much it for today, other then the basics. Very uneventful, but still nice

So BIG news!!! Aidan STTN!!! For the first six months of his life, he had slept through the night, no problems, then out of no where things got hectic and quick! Around when he started crawling he stopped sleeping...and in the mix, started resenting his crib. He hated his crib with a passion. So, about a month ago, we converted it to the toddler bed and he liked it...but wouldn't sleep in it all night. Anyways, on to the current stuff. On Wednesday night i decided to try and get him to fall asleep in in his bed on his own...and he did! But he woke up around 2:30, crying, and, not realizing I did it, I brought him into bed with us Well I kicked myself in the *** for that one the next day and hope that all was not lost so last night I did the same thing: tucked him into bed, gave him his monkey, rubbed his little head for a minute, a kiss good night and out the door I went and went to bed. Next thing I know, I hear him screaming his at his gate to get out and all I could think was "God, please let it be atleast 5am..." Well it wasn't...it was 6!!! Needless to say I was excited!

So other then the good sleeping news, not much else is going on. We're having a yard sale tomorrow so who knows what that has instore for little man lol.

Well Aidan is sick again He has a little cold and he is absolutely miserable. Poor little guy. He did, though, manage to have fun at the yard sale today! He help me sell some of our useless crap and made new friends!

Monday he is supposed to have his 15 month well visit but I think I'm going to have to cancel it now (again!) Two weeks ago he was supposed to have it and he was sick then too He just can't win!

Other then that, all is good. Tomorrow we are taking him on a winter shopping spree with the money we nade from the yard sale

Well a lot has happened in the past month. aidan finally had his 15 month well visit and the doctor was concerned with this weight. He said he had no gained any weight since May. Long story short, turns out MIL was giving DS too much juice and this was causing him to not gain weight. So our pedi yelled at MIL (who took him to his appointment) and implemented a no juice/ no fruit diet for a month and, boy have we notice a difference! he's gained about 2 lbs in the past 3 weeks! So my skinny baby is now becoming a chunky monkey! He goes back for a weight check in a couple weeks so we'll see what the grand total weigh gain is then

So update from last post- little man gained 2 lbs so far!!!! He is eating like a champ now too. He's a machine. He learned a new word too- more! He's addicted to milk and once he's done he comes crying to me "More, Moma." He actually just came up to me while typing this asking for milk lol. So as you can tell, food issues are clearing up.

Aidan has added a lot of words to his vocabulary over the past couple months. Elmo, pillow, Rylee (our dog), Milo (our cat), binky, jacket, milk, more, cookie, please, thank you, bless you...I could go on and on. His favorite word is "Car" still, with "no" coming in a close 2nd. He likes to say "Car at" because MIL always says "Where's the car at?" to him.

Thanksgiving was good. DS was your typical kid, wanted nothing to do with dinner but wanted everything we had for dessert. He ate a whole peice of pumpkin pie and some apples out of the apple pie. He absolutely loved it! He had pumpkin and cool whip all over his face! After that he sat and watched football with daddy and grampy. It was so cute to watch because whenever the two of them would cheer, he would look at them and just start screaming cause they were. He looked so grown up that night.

the weekend after Thanksgiving we rescued a rottie. She was being neglected and the previous owner was going to kill her because he didn't want her anymore so we took her. Her name is Rylee and she is 10 months old. Aidan loves her!!! He tries to "ride" her all the time. She is a sweet heart and loves him just as much. Milo, on the other hand, is still alittle ify.

Fast foward to the Tuesday before Christmas. DF woke up in the middle of the night sick as all hell. When DS woke up that morning, he was sick and going through clothes like it was a fat kid at a buffet. I HAD to go to work or else I would not get paid for the two holiday days after. I lasted about 3 hours before I was sick too. We were all sick- 2 days before Christmas. To make a long story short, it was a sucky Christmas and I hope, for Aidan's sake, it never repeats itself

Aidan is fully recovered now and as happy as he always is. I guess that's it for now!
