Is it really "next week" already? Wow. Well, guess it's time to ask away. Even though I'm no longer ttc, I don't mind being in the hot seat anyway (I think) Wink

Yay! I want to start off by saying that I lurked and read your post on the 2+ board and wanted to give you a :bighug: The difficulty of the decision you had to make is inconceivable to me. I'm very sorry. I hope you don't disappear too much. I will miss you. I might have to lurk on some of your other boards to check in on you. Smile

Okay, to the questions.....

What is your favorite type of music to listen to?

What is one of the artists/groups that will make you change radio stations if their song comes on?

How would you describe your personality?

Is DD more like you, or DH?

What does your house look like?

What was your favorite subject in school?

What is your favorite type of music to listen to?It's a toss up between soft rock (as long as it's actual music and not just noise, and has a good message, lol), and African American-inspired gospel music. Our African American friends really know how to put 'soul' into their music, and I like that. Smile I also like some gospel country, like the Gaither Brothers, and other gospel country as well.

What is one of the artists/groups that will make you change radio stations if their song comes on? Hmmm... there are a few. One would be Third Day.

How would you describe your personality? I tend to be more of an introvert, but the funny thing about that is that I can also very outgoing and upbeat with people that I can relate to. I love kidding around and not taking life too seriously, though I can also be very analytical. I'm definitely a "thinker."

Is DD more like you, or DH? DEFINITELY more like me. So much so that it's scary. However, she gets her goofiness from DH, for sure and certain. I am so not goofy... love to kid around, yes... goofy, no. I feel like it's 'beneath me' or something. Hahahaha. Though sometimes I pretend to be goofy for my DD's sake Smile

What does your house look like? Not sure how much detail you want, but here goes: We have the privilege of living in a house on wheels; a.k.a., a mobile home. Hey, we live in the country, so it's allowed. Wink Not my first choice, but it's just where we're at right now. And the best part? It's paid for Biggrin It's as large as a double wide, without actually being a double wide, if that makes sense. 3 bedrooms, 2 baths. The living room is separated from the kitchen by a bar/counter.
Kitchen: Beautiful marble countertops (put in by DH), custom built oak cabinets on one side; all smaller appliances are stainless steel with black trim, stove is white with black back, refrigerator is also white, with black trim. Oak dining room table (round) with matching oak chairs. Wallpaper is a flowing flower-on-vine design, with mostly blue accents and a beige background (it's old, though, and needs replacing). The floor also needs replacing, it's old and outdated, beige and brown vinyl tiles--yuck, lol.
Living Room: Widescreen TV on top of a custom built (by DH) oak entertainment center, couch on opposite side (in front of bar), and maroon easy chair in the corner. The couch is a flower design: maroon, green, and beige. Oak wood floors, which also runs down the length of the hallway.
Home office: It's neatly tucked into one corner of the living room ~ oak desk, metal beige file cabinet, silver flatscreen TV computer monitor (given to us by my brother).
Master bedroom: Plywood floors, with area rugs. White walls, will eventually add fancy trim (probably dark beige, not sure yet). Will eventually be carpeted.
Bathrooms: Guest has pine-green rugs with matching shower curtain, typical mobile home style tub (vinyl), yellow spackled walls (yes, spackled  it was there when DH bought the place--they need to be de-spackled and repainted a different color), and outdated 60's style vinyl tile floor (which I hide with the rugs, lol). Master has newer vinyl tile (put in by DH), white with gray/blue accents, and a white pedestal sink with silver faucet.
Hannah's bedroom: Multi-colored carpet, baby blue walls (her favorite color) with princess accents, custom-built shelving from floor to ceiling, dark pink bedspread and pillow sham.
Spare bedroom: Is being used as a storage room. I hope to turn it into a guest room/craft room soon. We have a large storage trailer on the property, so it's just a matter of boxing everything up and moving it over there.

The whole place needs a LOT of work, which we've been slowly doing.

What was your favorite subject in school? P.E.? Lol No, seriously... probably Art. Though I liked History and Geography, too.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? That's a tough one, because I haven't been to that many places Lol Only a handful of other states, and I've never left the U.S., though I did leave the coast once on a cruise ship Blum 3 If I were to guess, based on what I've heard and seen in pics, I'd say New Zealand.

What is your favorite movie ever? Another hard one. If I had to pick, I'd have to say "The Ten Commandments," with Charlton Heston. Such a classic movie, and the acting was awesome.

What is your favorite meal? A really good pizza, with honey-mustard wings dipped in Ranch sauce, followed by frozen yogurt/ice cream Smile

What is your favorite dessert? See above :icecream:

Do you enjoy being a SAHM? To be honest, at first I didn't Lol I had worked outside the home for so many years, that it was really weird for me in the beginning. But once I got used to it, I did better. Now that I"m working from home, plus working part-time outside the home, most of which is done while my DD is in school, I'm even happier Smile

What keeps you up at night? If I'm worried or concerned about someone in my family, or a good friend.

Name one thing you are insecure about. My seeming lack of ability to stay focused (I get distracted so easily sometimes that it scares me). For example, when I was cleaning for my step mom this morning, I took the clothes out of her washer and put them in the dryer, then put the dryer sheet in. Then I put the next load of dirty clothes in the washer, put the detergent in, then turned it on and walked away to go do some cleaning. Came back later when I heard that the washer was finished and got ready to put the clothes in the dryer, when I suddenly remembered that I never turned on the dryer! (Not that I do that one thing all the time, lol, but things 'like' that).

Name one thing you are confident about. My English grammar and spelling. I seemed to have always had a knack for it.

Do you have any regrets? Sure do. I wish I would have had more confidence in myself and a better head on my shoulders as a young girl, so that I would have waited for the right guy to come along before getting married (the first time). It would have saved me a LOT of heartache.

What is on your Christmas wish list? A laptop, or an elliptical. Smile

What is your family favorite activity? Watching a good movie together (that we can all watch and be happy with).

What do you do to relax? Read a book or magazine. I also like walking through the mall and browsing/shopping, alone or with a friend.

What is one thing that you like to do to pamper yourself? Get a pedicure and manicure done at a salon (I usually do it myself).

If you had a whole day to yourself (DH and DD were both gone for the day) what would you do? Make some popcorn and laze on the couch while watching a good chick flick or two, then go browsing through some malls/stores, then come back and read a good book and maybe a couple of magazines. Maybe even take a nap in there somewhere. Smile

What is your least favorite household chore? DISHES! Hands down. I'd rather scrub toilets. Weird, I know.

One that you don't mind? Laundry. Until I get too far behind, then it becomes evil. Lol

Who is one person that inspires you? My step mom. She is such a hard worker, and so organized. She has done AMAZING things with my dad's house (the house I grew up in).

What are your pet peeves? I have one main big one: CRAZY DRIVERS. I don't know which is worse, the fast ones who act like they OWN the road, lol, or the slow ones who REFUSE to move over. Today I had TWO mud-turtles driving the same speed and I couldn't get around EITHER one of them. Then one of them FINALLY sped up a little, so I was like, "YES! Finally!" and got behind him. THEN guess what he did? SLOWED DOWN EVEN MORE! Gah! :brucelee: I think he just wanted to annoy me. Lol

Haha! I'll wash your dishes if you'll scrub my toilets! I hate scrubbing toilets but I don't mind doing the dishes....though, my hubby does the dishes so maybe that's why I don't mind them so much?! Biggrin

ROFL Haha! I soo know what you mean about crazy drivers! Grrr....makes my blood boil too.

Name one thing Hannah does that makes you laugh

Name one thing Hannah does that makes you scream (lol)

How did you meet your DH?

How did your DH propose?

If "they" made a movie about your life, what genre would it be and who would play you?

Where did you grow up?

Name one thing Hannah does that makes you laugh. ONE thing? Oh my goodness... how do I choose, lol. She is one big giant goofball. To pick one... she does this thing where she makes her hands talk to each other and play with each other. She pretends that her hands are various people or animals or even objects. On occasion she will have her hands 'fight' each other and it is so hilarious! And then she did something recently for the first time: Sometimes I use the "1...2...3" thing with her when she won't listen, and I very rarely get past 1 before she does what she was asked. This particular day I had walked her to class (which I rarely do anymore) and she didn't want to stop clinging to me and join her classmates. I was squatting down talking to her and started counting, "1.... (still clinging) 2.... (no change)... then just as I was about to say "3" (which would mean consequences for her), she suddenly clamped her hand over my mouth! Well, that's one way to stop me from saying 3! ROFL

Name one thing Hannah does that makes you scream (lol). When she whines (which usually involves a huge drama fest, hence the "drama queen" smiley in my siggy, lol) or repeats something over and over incessantly.

How did you meet your DH? We were both attending the same Sunday School class (it was specifically for singles). I actually dated another guy in that class first, who we're still really good friends with (he married another girl from that same class, lol).

How did your DH propose? He took me to a beautiful place in our hometown overlooking the water, got down on one knee, presented me with a beautiful ring, and proposed. I said, No. (Just kidding! Hahaha. I said yes, of course!) Then he took me to a nice restaurant (also overlooking the water) and we had a really nice dinner, then we went for a walk. He even wore a black cowboy hat and black leather vest that night, which he knows I love (that is so not him, by the way. He wears Indiana Jones type hats, which I HATE, lol).

If "they" made a movie about your life, what genre would it be and who would play you? I was hoping you wouldn't ask me this one, lol. But it's a good thing! It's making me stretch my brain to really think. Smile I'll have to come back with my answer later.

Where did you grow up? A quaint little town in Northeast Florida, near the beach. I was a real beach girl for the longest time. I tried learning to surf, but apparently it wasn't my cup of tea. Either that, or I gave up too easy Lol

How did you choose DD's name?

Any holiday traditions?

How did you choose DD's name? We couldn't decide, but when she was born it just came to me. Her first name, "Hannah" comes from the woman in the Bible who waited so many years to have a child and still couldn't, so she got down on her knees and pleaded with God with all of her heart to give her a child, and He did. I could relate to it because I also waited so many years to have a child. When I told DH the name, he instantly agreed that it fit her perfectly.

Any holiday traditions? We like to fill a shoebox for Operation Christmas Child every year. Other than that the only 'tradition' we have is to read the story of the birth of Jesus on Christmas morning, before opening the gifts. We're a fairly young family (as in, only married less than 6 yrs), so we haven't really developed any of our own traditions yet, but I follow my mom's tradition of wrapping gifts a few at a time and putting them under the tree for a few days leading up to Christmas morning (she passed away back in 1995 of diabetic complications). I'd like to start some other traditions, one of which would be going as a family to serve food at the homeless shelter on a certain day in December.

Jina ~ I still haven't come up with anything for a type of movie about my life and who would play me, lol. I'm afraid I'm not very good at that sort of thing. I'll keep thinking on it.

Oh man, I tried to post a whole list of questions yesterday and got an error message, and now I can't remember what I was going to ask!

Describe your favorite outfit to wear on a date night.
Describe your favorite pair of shoes.
Describe your favorite piece of jewelry.
Describe your favorite way to wear your hair.
Who is your celebrity look alike?
If you could change one thing in your life, what would you change?

Ok, about the movie genre... I asked my DH to help, and he came up with something almost immediately. He said it would be a movie based on a 'southern country' song, and that Julia Roberts would play me. Lol

If you could travel through time, when and where would you go? Hey, may as well go right now, long as I could take H and DH with me Smile and we decided together that we think we'd like to go way back to the pre-flood era.

You are granted 3 wishes - GO!
1. That I'd have unlimited wishes Blum 3
2. To have the wisdom of Solomon (without some of his err...um... "practices.") Lol
3. Perfect health (mainly referring to my hip and knee issues here) and unlimited stamina Smile

Savory or sweet?
If you mean what I prefer MOST of the time - savory.

What are 5 things that you want to accomplish in your life? (stole this one from Alissa! Lol
1. To place in the top 3 in a 5K race. Maybe even 1st place in my age group.
2. Write a best-selling novel/book.
3. Start my own business and make a 7-figure income (because I want to do the following).
4. Start a home for battered/abused women and children. Many women in those situations are stuck because they don't have the money to leave, and/or they don't want to move in with family or even on their own for fear of being found by their abusing spouse. I want them to have a place to go and be able to recover, be protected, get counseling if needed, then get on their feet and be able to support themselves (and any children they have) and move somewhere safe.
5. Start a home for the homeless, not just a shelter, but a place where they can get food/clothing and the necessary counseling needed (if they are willing) to be able to get off the street and on their feet.

Favorite place to shop? Forever 21 Smile

Describe your favorite outfit to wear on a date night.
I don't really have a "favorite" outfit to wear, because I just wear whatever I'm in the mood for, but I usually will wear something similar to this:

Describe your favorite pair of shoes. A pr of black ankle boots that I bought recently, but after wearing them a couple of times, I realized the heel was a little too spikey and my feet would start to hurt after awhile, so I'm going to take them back for a refund (if that store will give a refund) and trade them for another pr of ankle boots that I saw at Target that I also love and has a wider heel.

Describe your favorite piece of jewelry. A necklace my DH gave me that has 3 silver tiered strands with pearls spaced about an inch apart. It looks great with just about anything.

Describe your favorite way to wear your hair. Like this (that's not me, by the way):

Who is your celebrity look alike?
Gwyneth Paltrow:

If you could change one thing in your life, what would you change? Where we live and what we live IN (lol).

Where is the farthest you have ever been from home? Cincinnati, OH.

Do you like to travel, or are you more of a homebody? I would say I'm somewhere in-between. I love traveling, but wouldn't want to do it all the time, unless it was a requirement for something I really loved to do and made good money (and I would then make myself homeschool H and take her with me, and--if I made enough money--take DH with me, too! lol).

Do you have any hobbies? Surfing p.org, of course ;)... reading, scrapbooking, writing. I'd love to start painting again, too.

That was fun! What awesome questions. Thank you Smile

Thanks, Jina! Smile And by the way, Gwyneth was the "closest" to looking like me I could come up with, I doubt very seriously I would be considered as beautiful as her, lol. She is much skinnier (about 15 lbs. skinnier, I think), plus her hair is lighter and longer than mine. Lol
