A new thread already! I remember the first time they started a new CTC thread. Poor Trina.

In other news, I noticed the PAL board has someone on it looking for a little support. I thought it would be nice if one of you pg ladies would drop by and offer some encouragement.

Mary, thanks for starting a new chat thread! How are you doing?

Alissa, Awww....I bet he did feel really bad. Again, I'm so freaking glad everything is okay! Did you get your appliances? Oh and I can't believe it's time for school already?! What the heck happend to our summer? We didn't even get to take a vacation! lol

Bonita, Are you getting ready to homeschool again?

Bonita - She's on my BB, I will stop by and say hello. Smile

Jina - We're in the same boat! We were planning on going camping this summer, but then we got tied down to our house renovations, and it never happened. We finally got our appliances at like 2:45. LOL Our kitchen is officially DONE! (Except now we have to start putting our house back together - a ton of our downstairs stuff got moved upstairs so it wouldn't be in the workers' way. I probably won't be doing that though; DH didn't even want me to put away the vacuum cleaner yesterday...lol He's sweet.

ETA: As for me, I'm back to work today. I had a long heart to heart with my boss about everything that is going on with me, and she was so awesome. I think she's the best boss I've ever had. Smile

Yay for the kitchen being done!!! No more takeout food!!! Awww....your DH is sweet! Let him do all the work and you just take it really easy. Have him cook dinner tonight too. In fact, get yourself a little bell...;) (just kidding!)

I'm glad you had a good talk with your boss. I'm sure it's a relief to have her in the loop and have her be so understanding. Biggrin

Maybe you guys can go camping this fall or take a babymoon this winter or next spring. We're going to take a babymoon but I don't want to leave the country. I also don't want to be on a plane so our options are kind of limited. Though, sitting on a beach in the Caribbean sounds heavenly!

AFM, I'm starving....what's for lunch everyone?

Hi ladies :wavehello: hope you don't mind if I jump in. I checked out the PAL board but it is D.E.A.D. Bonita and Jina told me about this thread here. I was on this board for a few months after my loss in 2/2010. I'm pregnant with #3 now...we weren't trying so this is a surprise. I'm very happy to be expecting again.

Alissa, I reply'd over on your thread in April but wanted to say again...I'm so happy for you getting great news yesterday. Biggrin

Jina, I just finished up a Firehouse sub. The Engineer, I believe, with turkey, melted swiss cheese and sauteed mushrooms, fully loaded. It was heavenly. Yum!

The beaches in Texas are nice aren't they? My aunt got married on a little island off of Galvaston TX, and I remember it was amazing and beautiful and peaceful. No plane necessary, just a short ferry ride from Galvaston. Maybe you guys could do something like that? We prob won't go camping in the fall just because it gets so cold at night in the mountains, even relatively early in the year (I went camping once in mid-September and seriously thought I was going to freeze to death. I spent the entire night in the car running the heater every 20 minutes to warm the car back up!!!) but we are going to FL in October for a bat mitzvah, so we are going to take an extra 2 days in FL and take T to Disney World! So excited, I haven't been there since I was a kid. Biggrin Plus I should be in my second tri, so not so nervous (hopefully) but also not huge yet.

Lunch: Thinking I might go to Mad Greens to get a salad. I'm wondering if they have the CO salad again like last year, with local peaches, green beans, and corn.

Oh Lynn! We must have been typing at the same time because I didn't see you until I posted! Yay, so glad you decided to join us! It's a great time to do it too, since we just started a new thread and there aren't like 20 pages to wade through! Biggrin Welcome, and a huge congrats on your pregnancy. I think that most of us that are PAL are happy and excited, but also scared crapless, so we can definitely sympathize! I'm glad we get to share a BB. Smile

Also, thank you! I was so freaking relieved. I am just taking it suuuuuper easy now. Haha, I feel like I'm creeping around like a little old lady because I'm walking so slow. Probably not necessary, but I'm dramatic like that.

Lynn, Hi! Glad you decided to join us over here. Biggrin Oh man that sandwich sounds amazing! I had ramen for lunch...haha! I know, not very nutritious, huh? Oh well. I have beef stew cooking in the crock pot and it smells and looks sooo good. At least dinner will be healthy. Though, I'm craving tacos like crazy! Ugh!

When is your first appointment? Congrats again!

Alissa, Not really. Galveston is very....smelly. It used to be okay when I was younger but now that I know what a "real" beach is like I just can't get myself to go there...lol. South Padre is much better but I just don't know about going to a Texas beach during winter/spring time. It's going to be cold! Maybe a Caribbean cruise might be a better idea. Lol...sorry you were so cold! We went camping on new year's eve several years ago and I was freaking miserable! Ugh! There was a fire ban too so we couldn't even get a fire going to keep us warm. That was the last time we went camping...lol. Ooooh! Your FL trip sounds like so much fun! T is going to be so excited! Take lots of pics!

Mmmm....I love peaches in salads! What did you end up eating for lunch?

Haha about Galveston being stinky! I don't remember it being stinky, maybe we went at the right time of year or something. LOL Oh man, beef stew sounds amazing!!!!! I am making Mustard Something Chicken for dinner tonight. I was going to make it this weekend and got all of the groceries, but then our kitchen still wasnt done and I got a little lazy. Biggrin

For lunch I just ended up eating a Marie Callender's frozen meal that I had left in the freezer last week and some fruit salad. About as exciting as your ramen. LOL

Today was our first day back. We were going to start yesterday but took the girls on their first ever camping trip instead. School went well today. We started out with pancakes. Followed by the pledge to the Flag. Seatwork interchanged with working with each girl one at a time at my desk. Then we had rice crispy treats for snack. For art we did drawings with pinto beans. They turned out really cute. I have several pictures on FB. I confess to being to lazy to put them here. Feel free to friend request me if we are not already friends. Daniel-Bonita Eimers

I made a new recipe that I found on Pinterest. Hot Eats and Cool Reads: Crescent Roll Calzones Recipe It was very yummy. I did use different fillings though. I used taco meat, corn, and cheese.

And while we are on the topic of food, can I share 2 more that are just SO yummy. Sometimes I find recipes on there there are so good I can't stand it. Red Barn Candle Company: Christmas Buttercream Fudge {Never Fail} (imagine if you added crushed up oreo) and Food 2 / A friend of mine brought me this when I had surgery. Now it is my "go to" dish for taking to people who have had babies, surgery, etc. 4-6 raw chicken breasts, new potatoes, green beans (fresh or canned-really any green veggie would . Pinterest is one of those places that you have to try 10 terrible or so so recipes to find a really good one, so here are some good ones I have found recently.

Jina, beef stew sounds wonderful! I need to put some crock pot meals on the menu soon. I have some good ones and it's so easy...I love coming home to dinner already cooked.

Alissa, great pic! I bet he had tons of fun Smile

Bonita, thanks for the welcome Smile

While we are talking about food....I really enjoyed my dinner tonight and it was pretty healthy too. I had grilled asparagus, crumb topped baked tomato, parmesan couscous and grilled fish (a white fish, can't remember what kind it was) So delish! Hope you all are having a good evening.

Jina, I have my first appoinment scheduled for August 30th. Really hoping I get a dating U/S then. My doc has always been one to do u/s's early on so I think it's likely but he moved to a new practice at the beginning of the year and I don't know how they have things set up there.

:lurk: I was on this board for both of my losses.. I see there's not a whole lot going on, I hope that's fantastic news for everyone that was here with me.

However, the reason I'm posting is because it's 926 in the morning and now I want beef stew, grilled asparagus, fish, salad and ramen noodles.

Actually - I love asparagus. DH won't touch the stuff. So, like...three weeks ago, I roasted some with olive oil, salt and pepper...and ate the entire bunch. I was SO SICK the next day..omg it sucked so bad. It was sooooo good though!

What a cute pic of T riding a horse!

I love asparagus too...and it was super easy to make. I just did the same as you with olive oil, salt and pepper and threw it on the George Forman grill for like 4 or 5 minutes. I have leftovers for lunch today too; can't wait.

Alissa, Yay! So glad you get to finally make mustard something chicken! lol I'm going to make it next week, I think. Oh I love the pic of T! How fun! I bet he had a blast...how cool that you guys can go horseback riding whenever you want! Biggrin Hehe....oh and he does have long legs! Wink

Bonita, It sounds like a successful first day of school! Thanks for sharing those recipes. I think I'm going to have to try them out...well, except for the fudge. I just have not been into sweets lately. Using taco filling for the calzones sounds like a great idea. Oh man....I still want some tacos...lol.

Lynn, I've never been a big crock pot user but lately it's been a lifesaver. I got so tired to eating out and most days I just don't have the energy to cook so I've been doing a lot of crock pot cooking. Smile Yum! Your dinner sounds really good! Haha....I love asparagus but am I the only one who gets smelly pee after eating them?!

I can't wait to hear about your appointment. I hope you do get an early/dating u/s. I'm sure if you ask for one he'll be happy to oblige. I'll be keeping everything crossed for a fantastic appointment! Biggrin

babywings, haha...sounds like the cravings have started for you! I normally don't watch broadcast/cable TV but I have been the past week or so because of the Olympics and man, the food commercials really get me. I start wanting everything I see advertisements for!

AFM, Oh man, the beef stew was sooo good. It was seriously the best beef stew I've ever had. I served it with some fresh crusty bread and it was just to die for! Here is the recipe I used if you're interested.

Oh man...I'm so tired today. I thought we're supposed to get some energy back as we approached the second trimester. I guess being slightly anemic isn't helping....blah....lol.

Hey Ladies! Jina, I hear you, I am super tired too. Hopefully you will get your energy back soon. That stew recipe looks great! I am definitely going to try that next week. Mmmmmm, I love beef stew. We call it Pirate Stew because my MIL made some homemade and sent some home for us, and when she was trying to get T to eat it the first time she told him pirates eat it all the time (so he would eat it too.)

Bonita - That chicken recipe looks really good and easy too. Definitely sounds like a nice low key dinner option. I had to giggle about putting a whole stick of butter on it, but I have to admit that I love butter in cooking, so I'm sure it turns out delicious.

Lynn - YUM, crumb topped baked tomato sounds amazing! (Can anyone tell I'm hungry, since all I want to talk about is food?) I like to make a side dish where I slice up a tomato, top it with pesto and parm cheese, and then broil for a few minutes. I bet adding panko to that would be really good! How do you do yours?

AFM - I did not make my Mustard Something Chicken. Aaaaargh! I forgot that Tuesdays are Swim Lesson day, so by the time we get home it is already after 6:30, and then I have to get T in a bath before bed, so we rarely cook on Tuesdays. LOL I feel like I am NEVER going to get to use my new kitchen. Tonight! I will make it tonight!

I have a drs appt today at 3:30. It's not an u/s, so it probably won't be terribly exciting, but I'm happy that they are keeping such a close eye on me. Smile

Alissa, Pirate Stew....that's cute! I really like that! lol I hope you get to use your kitchen tonight. Good luck at your appointment! What kind of appointment is it? Are they doing b/w? Maybe another u/s? Please KUP asap! Smile

We started out with the Pledge. Then we worked on memorizing a verse they needed to know for church. After that Alyssa sat at her desk while I worked with Brianna. She counted to 100, said her vowels, and sang the ABC song. Then she worked on her papers while I worked with Alyssa. She counted to 100 froward and backwards. Then counted by 2's to 100. She also counted money. After that they worked on their own for awhile. Then I listed to Brianna read and read to Alyssa out of her history book. She took an open book test on the history that I then had to grade. After they were done with their seat work we made puppets complete with yarn hair and wiggly eyes. Alyssa also practised the piano, read a chapter in Little Woman, and did some math practice online.

I was going on very little sleep because I waited up for DH to get home from work last night at his part time job. He did not get home until almost 12:30 AM and the girls were up and ready to do school at 7:30. So I took a nice long nap this afternoon. I woke up with a fever so I am taking it a little more easy tonight.

Awww Bonita, those pictures were darling! What cute little girls you have! Also, I was impressed by how "professional" your set up looks. It's obvious that you take your girls' schooling very seriously. Smile

Jina - I FINALLY made Mustard Something Chicken for dinner tonight! And it was as good as I remember! Felt sooo good to eat a real meal again off of real plates. Lol

Had my OB appt today. We just kind of talked through all of my b/w tests and the results of the u/s and made sure we were on the same page about my medications and everything. Then he offered to do another u/s in two weeks simply to put my mind at ease since 8 weeks has been my "danger zone" with the last 2 losses. So I have an u/s on Monday, and then another one two Wednesdays from now, and then assuming everything is going the way it should be, we'll probably get on a more normal schedule. I love my OB that he is willing to do an extra u/s just to make me feel better.

Also, because of the spotting on Sunday, I decided that I need to take it easy for the next little bit. I haven't used much vacay time at all this year, so I took Thurs and Friday and then all next week off for the express purpose of laying around and watching movies and slack a$$ing around. Biggrin So as of right now, I am on vacation!!!! Whoop!!!

Bonita, love the pics! Your girls are adorable! Wow...sounds like a very full day of fun and learning. Biggrin I hope you are feeling better today!

Alissa, yay! I bet the chicken was like the most delicious thing ever! haha! Yay for extra u/s. Isn't it an amazing feeling to know that your OB really has your best interest at heart? And as much as I hate ultrasounds, it was really reassuring to get weekly scans. Woohoo for being on vacation!! I think it was the right call. lol...I seriously put myself on bed/couch rest for like 6 weeks. I didn't want to take any chances....though, I think I went a little over board. Anywho, maybe I can keep you company here and there by chatting! Biggrin

AFM, shoot! Hubby's B-day is coming up in 2 1/2 weeks and I have no idea what to do. I seriously haven't had anything else on my mind but this pregnancy. I think I might get him a nice pen or something. I don't know....yikes. Oh and he starts his classes back up ON his birthday. Boo! He took the summer off and it sure was nice.

What is everyone doing for lunch today? Haha...it seems like I'm always asking about food. I'm starting to get hungry but nothing sounds appealing.

Thank you. I am feeling better today. After I got the girls done with their lesson, I let Daddy take over so I could go to the store. I went to the used book store and to the Hobby Lobby to do a little early Christmas shopping. Plus I am excited it is raining for my garden.

Jina - That's basically what this is, self imposed rest. They told me to take it easy, so I decided that probably meant that I should take off work, send T to play at daycare (since I have to pay for it regardless), and just sit on my butt for the next week and a half! Omygosh, forgot about the chat! Yes, I will be there!

Today I didn't know what I felt like for lunch, so I ran to Whole Foods and picked up some tofu salad rolls (good, except the rice paper is a little rubbery) and some Artichoke and Pea Bisque. What did you end up having?

As for M's birthday present, he is always on the go, what about a nice messenger style bag to carry all of his stuff around?

Bonita - That is nice that your Hubby can take over for you to let you go to the store. What all did you get at Hobby Lobby?

To everyone else, hi!!!

I had a 40% off any one item coupon so I bought Alyssa an early Christmas present. I bought her a latch hook rug kit. I think she is old enough that she would be able to do it. I am hoping to get a few presents a month from now until Christmas so that December is not such a crazy time. I like to have the bulk of my shopping done by Thanksgiving Smile

Jina - Men are so hard to buy for. I like the messenger bag idea, I actually sell those (two types).
Bonita - Good luck with the homeschooling Smile
Clarkton (Lynn) - Hi! So good to hear from you, and CONGRATS Biggrin

Hey to everyone else :wavehello: Been so busy lately! Nothing real exciting to report. Saturday they're having a kid's fashion show at Dillard's at the mall and Hannah wants to be in it. Should be fun!

So today I bought some craft books at the used book store. I am excited about the idea of making a doll house out of boxes. It is so cute. I just know my girls will love it and I bet I could make it for less than $10. DH and I want to do more craft/home made presents for Christmas this year. This will be the first year we will be home for Christmas in several years.

Alissa, lol...sounds good to me! Now I'm craving Whole Foods! I love their white pizza but only from the Kirby location in Houston. I also want some broccoli crunch! Yum! I ended up eating a tv dinner...yuck. I really need to stop eating so much processed junk.

A messenger bag is a nice idea except he's not the type to carry a one. He has a back pack that he uses all the time. I'll have to think about it some more.

Bonita, yay! glad you're getting your shopping started so early! Biggrin Hehe...I'm bad. I don't even start my shopping until after Thanksgiving. BUT, I do have the list completed so shopping is pretty painless for me. I do majority of my shopping on-line!

Mary, Awww....the fashion show at Dillard's sounds like so much fun! Plese share pics! Biggrin

AFM , I just want to thank everyone on this board and especially the ladies on this chat thread for all the support I've received for the past two years. I really don't think I could have made it this far without you guys. I feel like I've made some really good friends on here that I'll always treasure. Out of respect for the ladies who are currently going through a loss or ttcal, I will be moving over to the pgal board. I hope this isn't goodbye....just...see you later. :bigarmhug:

Ditto to what Jina said. I have truly enjoyed getting to know each of you, and consider you dear friends. You have been there for me through two losses and all of the anxiety and excitement of TTCAL, and I truly value the support and friendship you have shown me over the past two years. However, I would never want to make anyone who is TTCAL uncomfortable, so I will move over to the PGAL board as well. I hope to see everyone around on the boards, and most especially on the PGAL board. Smile

What is everyone having for dinner today? - I have not decided yet. Someone inspire me!

How was your weekend? Pretty good.

Anything fun planned for next weekend? SIL is coming to town to visit. IDK why, but she always makes me nervous. I am sure it will go fine though.

Stopping by to say hi and see what everyone is up to. Looks like it's been quite the past few days.

I'm counting down days now.....hopefully work will slow down and I can start leave a little before the babies come.

Looking forward to having some time to catch up with everyone! Going to bed early has really cut into my internet reading and posting time!

Mary, Yay! I can't wait to check them out.

:bigarmhug:

Actually, as it turned out, the lady on the phone used the wrong term, it wasn't a fashion show, but a model search, so they just took pictures. She did get to dress up in a stylish outfit, though. I'll try to remember to upload the pic so I can share. Smile Awww, we'll miss you and Alissa! You are more than welcome to keep posting here if you want, though I do understand. I hope that thread I posted about the Chat going on over on the PGAL board didn't give anyone the wrong impression, I just wanted to let everyone know about it in case they wanted to post over there, kwim? :giveflower:

Hi there. Today was busy because we doubled up on school work today to make up for some time we are planning to miss this weekend. Plus DH is getting our room ready to paint. I am looking to make curtains for our room. It should be nice when it is done.

Bonita - I love painting/remodeling and generally updating the house! It always makes me feel like a kid with a new toy!

Mary - looking forward to seeing pics

Most everyone from here moved over to the PAL board. They have it quite hopping. Too bad it did not make me ache to be pg!

I'm still around! Just busy busy. I love remodeling, too. Now to just get to it! LOL. Maybe now that Hannah is in school all day. She did great with her first day of Kindergarten yesterday, by the way (I say yesterday because it's after midnight here now ). I really missed her, though! Pre-K last year was only 3 hrs, Kindy is almost 7 hrs!

What did everyone have for dinner last night? I had a homemade taco salad. It was very tasty! I used beans instead of meat this time. Yum!

How did Hannah like Kindergarten? I am sure it is hard. School is going well here. We are a full 2 weeks into it.

She loves it, Bonita. I figured she would, she thrives on structure since she gets bored so easily. She loves having her "mama time" on the weekend, though Smile

Sunday I helped out with the 1 & 2 yr olds in the nursery, and though it was a lot of work, I loved it. Got my "baby" fix Smile

Hellloooo out there. Anyone else around? I need to check in on everyone over on the PGAL board, but it will have to wait til tomorrow. Off to bed now....
