Question of the Week! (12/26-1/2)

What was your most unusual/strange/bizarre Christmas gift this year? (If you didn't get any unusual ones this year, then talk about one from a previous year). Share a pic if you can, please! This should be interesting Biggrin

*Reminder: Turn off signatures that include child pics or pg'cy tickers, please*

This year was pretty tame but I will tell you the funniest one I got this year.

My sweet DH listening to all the griping I've been doing regarding getting my Basal Temp Thermometer and it not working bought me a fancy digital thermometer thinking it would be faster and nicer. He really tried hard :). Now I will return it and take that money to buy myself something nice. He does get an A for effort!

LOL Danielle, ya gotta give him credit for trying.

Funny is good! Definitely post funny gifts, too.

Here's my most unusual/strange gift, I'll post a pic later: A miniature personal fan. And I do mean miniature. It's slender and fits in your purse. Does anyone else think that's a strange gift, or is it just me? Maybe if I had hot flashes, but hopefully I'm quite a few years off from that one yet! LOL. So, unfortunately, another one for the "will never get used" shelf/drawer, along with the "bra purse" from last year. Lol

ETA: Okay here's a pic of the mini-fan:

Danielle, lol...that was actually very sweet of your DH! Biggrin

Mary, "bra purse"?! hmm....that sounds....interesting! Please elaborate!

I'm boring....I don't think I've received any strange or unusual gifts....boo! I'll have to think about this some more....I mean, I know I must have but I just can't recall. Maybe they were sooo horrid that I had to completely erase them from my memory?! lol

Bra purse = A tiny little purse that you put your money in and then stuff down in your bra, usually in-between the two 'girls.' It used to be a popular thing for women back in the old days. Maybe some women still use those, but as for me.. um.. no thanks. If I ever happen to need to walk the streets in a high-crime area, I'll keep my money in my sock or shoe, NOT my bra, especially when I go to get my money out! LOL.

I have a pic of the mini-fan now, I'll add it to my post above in just a minute.... Smile

Mary - I have seen the "bra purse" thing before...definitely not for me!!! Biggrin

Danielle - At least DH gets credit for paying attention and giving it a shot! Very sweet, but enjoy whatever you end up getting with the return. Wink

I didn't really get any "weird" gifts this year. I sometimes get odd stuff from my students, but not so much. I did get 2 tops that were 2 sizes too small from DH's aunt. She's always bought the right size in the past (and I'm the same size I've been for 2 years now) so it was weird only in that she suddenly forgot I'm a plus-sized girl! I either need to try to return them without the receipt, or join the next Biggest Loser Challenge! ROFL

Hmmmm... I think the most unusual gift I got this year was from my boss. He and his wife gave me a brownie making kit. So there was a total of six wrapped boxes. One had brownie mix (Ghiradeli), another was dried cranberries, another was walnuts, another was chocolate chips, and so on. My husband was just amazed when I brought home this huge box of gifts and started opening them and it was all food. The back story was that when I had surgery in June, my bosses wife made me brownies that I literally hid from the kids and grandparents (who were staying to help me recover from surgery since DH was away w/ military stuff) and I ate them all myself. Every last one of them and I have asked for them for every potluck event since.

I will toss in my worst gift ever. A sex toy... my first boyfriend right out of high-school gave that to me on Xmas morning with his MOM in the room. I was SO embarressed. We broke up the next day. LOL.

Awww, Kim, in front of your MOM? That's just cruel (and weird)! Not surprised you broke up the next day. Lol
