Super confused, anxious, excited....(poss pg ment, m/c ment)
I a couple of questions for you ladies. I recently had a miscarriage (I have no idea how you "calculate" a miscarriage, but I had an u/s when I should have been 7 weeks 3 days that showed an empty sac. I knew my dates were pretty accurate so I knew the inevitable would happen soon. Sure enough I started spotting red the next day (I had been spotting brown before and that is why I had the u/s done). So I think everything passed when I would have been 8 weeks 4 days and I stopped bleeding 3 days later. So first question, when did I miscarry? 7w3d, 8w4d, or before that since the sac was empty? Not a big deal on this question, but just curious.
For the sake of my next question we will count the day the spotting stopped as cycle day 1.
Now here is the big deal. So I had a lot of EWCM on CD11. I can't remember exactly when I did an OPK but it was either CD11 or CD12. It was negative for an OPK but there was a slight line there. DH had been out of town for a week so on CD13, 14, 15 we BD'd and unfortunately due to a yeast infection haven't done anything since. Today would now be CD25 and I was just curious this morning and tested with an IC HPT. Sure enough there was a clear faint line. So an hour later I tested with a Clear Blue Digital and it said Pregnant. I am so super excited, scared, you name it I am feeling it. So I guess my question is...am I pregnant? After the m/c I never tested with a HPT to see if my levels ever got to zero. But I would think the -OPK would also equal a -HPT. What do you ladies think?
Mandy (((hugs))) I can't tell you for sure if you are but I would assume that you are in fact pregnant! I ran out of pg tests so used my opks and they all come up positive so I would think it was safe to assume that all the hcg was out of your system! I hope this is it for you!!! Sorry I don't have better advice!!!
I hope you don't mi d me chiming in but I would say that it is more than likely to be left over hcg from you pregnancy.
I know my hospital would expect to see negatives at 4 weeks really.
After my last d and c I was worried at getting a + at 5 weeks and called my doctor to check numbers which were really low so I was pleased.
But you do need to get your bloods done. One to check that your numbers are either steadily going down ir if you have fallen again the numbers are steadily going up.
There is always a chance not everything expelled which is why it's very important to check your numbers.
I am sorry for your loss Hun.
I hope that this is it for you but see the doc and check all is okay.
Well, I just went in for a blood draw. The nurse will call me with the number tomorrow and then I will go back again Wednesday afternoon and will hopefully have some peace of mind on Thursday before noon. On the phone the nurse seemed very hopeful that this was a new pregnancy. Since there was never a baby and the gestational sac never even measured past 5 and a half weeks (sorry for leaving out that detail before) and since I have stopped bleeding for a while now, she says that it very promising. Please keep your fingers crossed for me and I will keep you updated with what I find out.
My numbers from yesterday (~12dpo based on the first day we BD'd) were hCG: 44 and Progesterone: 30.5. The nurse said these were good numbers and I only need to redo the hCG tomorrow. Looking at websites for hCG ranges the 44 sounds about right for 12dpo. Let's just hope it doubles tomorrow. Hopefully I will have a good update for you all Thursday when I get the results.
I would "guess" that since you got a negative OPK that your hcg levels had in fact gone to zero (though it's not an absolute guarantee), so I'm very hopeful that it is in fact a new pg'cy!
We have a new "Pregnant after a Loss" support thread on the main page now, so feel free to post there with the beta results and any other concerns you have with the new pg'cy. So hope you'll have good news to share
