Almost time!

Hello everyone,
I'm new here, but have been lurking for a few weeks to get a feel for the boards. My name is Jaime. DH and I have been together for almost 8 years, and married since May 31, 2003. I'm 28, he's 30. We have both always wanted kids, but wanted to make sure our timing was right. I wanted to be a bit more financially stable, and I wanted to own a home first. We bought our house on July 14, 2006, and have been loving every minute of being a homeowner! We found the perfect house and I think it will be a great neighborhood to start a family in.

With that out of the way, the next thing to conquer was my health. While I do not have any serious medical conditions, I am quite overweight and have had high blood pressure for a little while. I have been on BCP for 11 years (with no breaks). I was put on it in my teens because I had an irregular period. I have been perfectly regular since taking them, but have a bad feeling that when I stop taking them I'll go right back to the way I was. Anyway, I went to a new PCP in my new town a few weeks ago. I liked her very much. She did a complete physical and blood workup, and my blood pressure wasn't even bad! I was shocked! I had been really worried that the blood pressure issue would stand in our way of TTC. DH and I have been trying out the South Beach Diet for a few weeks now, so maybe the small amount of weight I've lost so far has helped with the BP? I'm also hoping that once I go off the pill it will go down even further. The Dr recommended that I buy a home BP monitor, so DH has been taking a reading for me every evening. I have my followup appointment with the PCP on 2/23/07 (next Friday) so I'll bring my readings with me and we can go over that and the results from my bloodwork.

As long as there are nothing weird comes up, we'll be TTC the next week!

I'm almost through TCOYF, and am loving it so far. I'll start temping once I'm off the pill. I think maybe I'll go out this weekend to buy a better thermometer. Once I do that I'll put together a signature with a FF link. I'm sure I'll need help in the beginning though!

Keep your fingers crossed for me!

So I tried to add a blinkie - hope I did it right! I'm not the best at technical things. Anyway if it did work, youcan see that it says TTC and keeping it a secret, so I'll explain why.

DH and I have so many friends who are pregnant! I think I know like 8 people IRL that are expecting. This is excellent news, and I will most certainly be getting my baby fix. The thing is that none of them had any issues becoming pregnant right away. I'm just worried that it will take a while to get my BFP, and I don't want all of our friends and family to keep asking us how it's going. As it is MIL asks every time we see her, and has since we got married - almost 4 years ago. At first we just figured it was because we were newlyweds, and that it would wear off. We were wrong. I don't really see her that often (she lives about 45 minutes away) but I always feel uncomfortable when she brings it up. I just think if we told her we were trying, she would bring it up even more (ifthat's possible!).

Who knows - maybe it won't take any time at all. On the other hand though, if I go back to having really irregular periods, and only ovulating every few months, it may take us a while. I tend to worry about things enough without added stress from others. That's why I think I feel so comfortable on these boards. I fell like I won't be judged here, and I know there are others here with the same feelings and fears.

Come to think of it, I probably won't even tell anyone until the 2nd trimester (besides DH of course and you ladies) once Iget my BFP. My mom had a couple of m/c in her day, not sure if that will make me more prone to them? Hopefully not. Althought she also never had a day of morning sickness with any of her pregnancies, so I wouldn't mind if I that was passed down! Biggrin

I don't know - do you think I'm being silly keeping it a secret? Is there anyone else out there that is waiting to tell people?

Not too much new really. Yesterday I went to a friend's shower. She's due 3/6, but not quite sure if she'll make it that far. I'm actually a the backup for her birth team. Her mom lives out of state, and is coming a week before her EDD adn will stay for 2 weeks. She also has another friend that lives a few hours away that will be joining her. This is all in addition to her DH of course. So if either her other friend or her mom can't make it, I'm on standby. We actually had a close one today, her contractions were coming about 5 mins apart, so she went to the hospital, was there for a little while, but was then discharged as the contractions stopped. So we'll see how it goes. I've actually been sick since Wednesday (just a cold), so I'm kinda glad I have some more time to rest up before her labor. I'm really looking forward to it. I have never seen a live birth. I watch all the TV shows of course, but obviously that's not the same.

So I've really spent the whole weekend resting, and am finally starting to feel better. I'm glad this is happening before TTC, because I have been taking some cold meds, which I probably wouldn't want to take if there was a chance I was pregnant.

Oh well, back to work tomorrow. The only good thing about that is that I had posted for some new jobs within the company last week and then was not at work on Friday (stayed home sick) so maybe I'll hear if I got an interview for any of them! Wish me luck!

Had a pretty boring day today. Haven't heard anything yet on the jobs I posted for, but it really hasn't been that long. I'm not concerned yet.

My doctor's appointment is on Friday. I'm getting a little anxious! I'm sure the week will drag by since I am so looking forward to Friday! Oh well!

At least it's supposed to warm up tomorrow. It's supposed to be in the 40's! How sad is it that I'm looking forward to that?!?!?! I guess if it had been any warmer than 20 degrees in the past week or so we wouldn't be so desperate for it! I'll take it however I can get it though! I do so hate the cold!

Ok so, I'm feeling a little better today. Thank God! I also took my last BCP last night! Woohoo!

My Dr's appt is tomorrow afternoon, so I'll let you all know about when I get home. Keep your fingers crossed for me that everything goes well!

My doctor's visit went well. She was very pleased with my blood pressure.
WOOHOO! I was so excited. The only thing that wasn't great was that I have an elevated DHEA-S level. I'm not sure what that even means, but I had more blood drawn to retest for it. If it comes back elevated again, I may have to have a catscan to make sure I don't have a tumor on my adrenal gland. Fun is.

Has anyone else had this problem? If anyone knows anything about it, please PM me - I would really appreciate it!

Tonight DH and I went to the movies to see Ghost Rider. Jim likes any movie that is based on a comic book, so he liked it. I thought it was strictly average, but at least I don't find myself trying to get those 2 hours of my life back!

Hey Hey Hey!
Well, the witch is coming, I can feel her. She should be here by tomorrow morning. I can honestly say that this makes me happy! I bought my first Basal Thermometer tonight. I really shouldn't have waited until the last minute, and probably should have ordered one online, but for now the Walgreens version will suffice. It was only $10, so I won't feel guilty if I have to buy another! Wink

Since AF should be arriving in the morning, I can begin to chart tomorrow. I am so excited! Our first cycle TTC! Hopefully my cycles will be fairly regular, even thought they never have been without the assistance of BCP. It's been a while, so who knows? It could happen.

The only other thing I'm waiting for is those test results from the doctor. Nothing yet, but it's too early either way. Hoepfully I'll get my little postcard and all will be well. Then we can start the serious BDing!

Wow - what a couple of days I've had.
So on Tuesday, I went to the hospital after work. My friend's water had broken around 11:30 am, and she got to the hospital around 4ish. I got there around 5:30, and at that time she was about 4 cm. Her beautiful son was born at 10:56pm. She only pushed for like 5 minutes by the way! It was amazing. It was the first birth I've actually been at. Really amazing! And now I'm a Godmother! Woohoo!

I got home around 2:30 that morning, probably fell asleep at 3:30. I was supposed to be at work at 8am, but went in an hour late. I was so exhausted all day, but I made it though.

So Wednesday night I started feeling sick. I caught the wonderful stomach bug that is going around. It kicked my butt! I called out of work both Thursday and Friday. DH stayed home as well to take care of me. He's such a sweetie. I was in bed for almost 48 hours, not watching TV or reading or anything, just sleeping and resting. I was finally able to get up a little bit last night, and by that I mean by going to the couch. I've just been so sore and achy all over. Today was a little better. DH took me out for a ride to get me some fresh air. I was able to eat a little bit of soup as well.

Unfortunately, for all his efforts, I think DH now has what I had. He went out with some friends tonight, and came home early, saying his stomach is hurting. I really hope it's not the same thing, I will feel really guilty.

DH and I are all better thank goodness. I had to go for a Catscan last week because of the elevated DHEA-S levels. It came back normal, so now I hav a followup appointment with my Dr on 3/18. I'm not really happy that I have to wait that long, but oh well.

DH and I have decided to not actively start TTC until this is all sorted out. I'm not really sure what other kinds of testing I may need. Hopefully after my appointment, we'll be ll set. We shall see.

It doesn't look like I'm anywhere near ovulating anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter all that much.

Sorry, feeling kinda negative today!

So my cube-mate at work had her baby today! Very exciting! She's been out for 2 weeks, and she'll be out for another 6 now that the baby is here. I'm going to see if I can get down to the hospital tomorrow evening after work to see them!

So my next Dr's appt is Monday afternoon to discuss what to do next about the elevated levels of DHEA-S. Since the catscan came back normal, I really have no idea what is next - more bloodwork maybe? Hopefully nothing too too lengthy.

Still no sign of ovulation, which I guess is good and bad. Bad because I would really like to find out if I can ovulate on my own. Good because if I don't ovulate before my Dr's appt and everything is fine and she tells me to go ahead, then we haven't missed an opportunity.

It has been snowing/sleeting here all day - it's the middle of March for God's sake! It just needs to stop! I hear it may be in the 70's next weekend though - how bizarre is that. Gotta love New England!

OK, so I just got home from the Dr's. She said that I just have elevated levels of DHEAS, and that I there is no reason to go forward with any other testing. :jumpingbeans:

She said the bloodwork had been elevated, but not very much and the catscan had been more of a precaution, and that since the catscan came out with no problems that I was all set. She said we will retest at my physical next year, but that's all.

And more importantly, she gave to go ahead for TTC!! We aren't waiting for anymore test results or anything! DH and I may need to celebrate tonight Wink

Time for my dustings ladies!

Well, my temps were up a little bit today. Let's hope they stay there!
The weather was absolutley beautiful today!
DH and I are going to be going for some walks in the very near future. Our neighborhood has some low traffic streets so we should be able to get some much needed exercise in as well as QT!

My cube-mate at work brought her new daughter in to visit. She is soooooooooo adorable!

I've got the fever - bad!

I need to keep telling myself that this is just the first cycle and I need to be patient.

We got our taxes done tonight. We didn't do to bad, but not as good as I thought we would.

Thank God it's almost the weekend! I have lots to do this weekend, but I'm going to take some time for myself I've decided!

Although my temps were a little high for a few days, they went back down yesterday and today. Oh well.
DH and I are trying to figure out where we should go on vacation for our anniversary. We were thinking Vegas or Disney, but I don't know if I want to spend that much time travelling. The flight to FL wouldn't be so long but with timing and layovers it would take up the better part of a whole day.
Maybe NYC for a few days - we always have fun there.
We shall see...

OK, so we decided on Vegas. We were originally going to only take a long weekend, but we decided to extend it to a whole week. I am so excited! Neither of us has ever been and are really looking forward to it! Hopefully this will be our last baby-free vacation, so we're really going to celebrate I think. :blob6:

If anyone has any suggestions on things to do or to not do, feel free to PM me. We won't be going until the end of May, so there's plenty of time to plan!

Woohoo!

Well, CD 50 fo me, no O yet, but I had lots of EWCM yesterday, and believe me, we took full advantage of it! Hopefully my temp will rise soon!!!

Please send me high temp vibes!

I'm not feeling very hopeful. I know there are a lot of people out there that have much longer cycles than me, but I still can't help but feel frustrated.
I have my yearly set up for the 3rd week of May, so hopefully my Dr will have something encouraging to say.
