    Default 14 Weeks 3 Days

Now im not so sure the heartbeat i heard the other day was baby's, i think it was mine. The reason i know is because.....................

    Woooooo Hoooooooooo!!!!!!

I gave the doppler another go this afternoon and found the heartbeat!!
This time i know it was definately baby's heartbeat as i kept hearing mine come in and out!!!
The display isnt very good at picking up the heartrate, it seems to get confused with other sounds so i counted it.....152bpm!

    Yay im so happy!!!!!

I went shopping with mum today and she bought the majority of the nursery co-ordinates we wanted, she also picked out a really nice pair of socks and booties!!

Went to the doctor the other day as for the past 2 weeks i keep getting a headache every day. She checked my blood pressure which was normal and she has sent off a urine sample to make sure i dont have any infection. Results should be in Tuesday. Im sure its all to do with hormones but best to be on the safe side. She said if they continue then to go back.

I love the sound of that doppler! I had a quick 2 minute listen this morning and the heartbeat was there strong as ever still at 152bpm! Will prob limit myself to a couple of minutes twice a week, less once i start feeling baby move which is hopefully not long now!!

Went back to the doctors this morning, the urine test was negative so good to know i dont have an infection. Im still getting the headches, although yesterday was the first time i didnt. Back again this morning though. He said he is very sure its nothing to worry about but i am to get my eyes re-tested as they can change alot during pregnancy and i have to have a couple of blood tests - full blood count and ESR:

"A physician usually requests an ESR test (along with others) to evaluate a patient who has symptoms that suggest polymyalgia rheumatica or temporal arteritis, such as headaches, neck or shoulder pain, pelvic pain, anaemia, unexplained weight loss, and joint stiffness. There are many other conditions that can result in a temporary or sustained elevation in the ESR and some that will cause a decrease.
ESR is a non-specific marker of inflammation."

Nice to see they are being on the safe side.
I have my own theory, im sure im getting dehydrated over night as im going to the toilet so much, im trying to make an effort to drink more water during the night.

We have booked a private 2d u/s for next wednesday (3 June, 10.15am) as we are unlikely to be having a 3d/4d one so this is instead. I am secretly hoping bf will change his mind about wanting to know the sex!! Im not too worried if he doesnt want to though as i still think the surprise will be nice!

Im so happy, when i got to work this afternoon, i was sitting upstairs at about 4pm ish when my friend E popped up. She is pregnant!!!!! Yay!! Im so pleased for her, she had a hard time convincing her dh to have a second child. Its only taken her 2 or 3 months or so! She will be 5 weeks friday so that makes her 4 weeks 5 days today. She only told me and my other friend A so big secret. Im so happy for her though she is such a lovely person and really deserves it.

Oh, and my other friend S has her big 21 week scan tomo at 2.20pm so will be looking forward to her update!!

I feel i have so much to update on!

Had a very productive but busy day on Sunday and Monday, i managed to get the fish tank completely drained down and rehomed the fish. Emptied it all out and cleaned it all up inc the filter etc etc, that was a huge job!! Taking that over to one of mum and dads neighbours tomo and hey are having it.

And as the tank was out of the was i was able to have the sofa removed from the spare room and got that sold and collected by someone!

I now just need to empty out the remaining bits from the spare room and buy the paint so we can make a start on decorating it this weekend.

I ordered all the furniture on Monday too so thats being delivered this friday afternoon!! Dad bought all of that for us!

Oh, and i found out on Monday that my old college friend A is also pregnant! Due on 5th December so i guess that makes her at 13w 4d ish!! So pleased for her!! Thats another friend i can go through this with! So we have E at 5w4d, A at 13w4d, me at 16w, S at 22w and J at 24w5d! I must admit, its nice not being the 'newly pg one' anymore, im so happy i have come this far!

And so so happy today, i had my private 16 week u/s!
Baby was hiding the whole time, wouldnt let us see his/her face!! The lady sent me for a 15 minute walk but it didnt do any good lol, baby was being very stubborn!! HR was 142bpm, she showed us the colour flow of the umbilical cord and she pointed out some little movements on my uterus which she said are mini braxton hicks that the uterus starts off doing from a very early stage! I didnt know that!
It was originally a regular 2d u/s but the lady done some in 3d/4d for us!!
Im so relieved all is looking good!

She took some measurements, some of which she said may not be 100% accurate due to the position of baby:

    Abdominal circumference - 10.85cm (16w 5d)
    Biparetial Diameter - 3.49cm (16w 5d)
    Head curcumference - 13.01cm (16w 5d)
    Femur length - 1.93cm (15w 5d)

Back of baby, can see little ears!

    Bottom/backs of legs/feet

Im sitting at home feeling rather bored and sleepy!! I got in from work about 40mins ago, now just waiting around for the nursery furniture delivery, they said any time betwee 12-6pm. Will prob end up being at 5mins to 6 or something stupid like that! Hopefully if they get here at a reasonable time i may be able to get the paint for the room, want to start that tomorrow. Going to clear out the rest of the stuff out the room today.

I felt very teary and out of sorts last night, bf left to go on the rock festival him and his brother are going to in Germany. He is back Monday so only 4 nights, not much but the house felt empty knowing he wasnt going to be back til then.

I may see if i can have a little sleep on the settee, dont want to miss the delivery though!!

The furniture arrived at about 3.45pm yesterday - all 6 heavy boxes of it which are now stacked in my living room and hall!! There are 2 more pieces to the set (a toy chest and under-cot drawer) to arrive on Tuesday (my bday!!) between 10am - 2pm to add to the collection!

I bought the paint yesterday, spent much more than i intended and it looks like i may need another tin! I painted one wall yesterday and managed to get another done today. It takes ages!!! I want to finish the last 2 walls tomo so will start fairly early. Im not looking forward to doing the second coat, infact im going to see if i can get someone else to do it ha ha!!! Silly dogs kept o trying to eat the paint out of the tray!

I have had a very busy day, apart from painting, i had to go shopping this morn for mums bday pressie (bday today, yes im unorganised!), then i emptied out yet another junk cupboard. Cleared that out and it left room for the chest of drawers and other bits from the spare room. There is still some stuff in there but getting there slowly, i will just have to move it around as i paint!!!

After i finished painting i cleaned up, had a shower, done the HUGE pile of washing up, fed the animals and then cooked my dinner. Im knackered now, bedtime very soon!!

Another busy day! I cleared out the final junk cupboard by the bedrooms and put the little drawer chest in there. Then i managed to get the rest of the room painted, i dont fancy doing the second coat!!! Think im going to drag bf to do that ha ha! Then i moved out the desktop computer into the hall, not sure what bf will think of where i have put it but thats the only place it can go for now. So thats virtually everything out!!

Not much else to update on, bf will be home tomo eve which will be nice!

Im pretty sure i may be feeling suspisions of movements now, it is like bubbles.......not convincing enough yet though to say for sure!! I can wait until i know for a 100% that its baby!!

My friend S popped into work today, she is looking really good, 23 weeks now....going to tr and get to hers one evening next week for take away and proper catch up.

Wont be too long now until my 20 odd week scan, am looking forward to that, especially as it may be the last time we see baby, unless i change my mind and have a 3d later on in the pregnancy which i can start to see myself doing lol. I must admit, im getting more suspisions its a girl, my sisters friend at the hosp (who is exactly the same weeks pg as me through IVF!) looked at my scan pics and thought it looked like a girl, and im sure thats what it looks like when i glanced at our dvd again.....then again im no expert either!!

Havent really done much more to the room as me and bf have been working this week. He was very pleased with what i had done when he came home monday! It was so good to have him back too. He has his 5 days off from Monday so is going to do the 2nd coat of paint and the ceiling, i will prob get the fiddley bits done like around the window.

It was my bday on Tuesday, bf took me out to lunch which was nice, and he gave me some money as i want to buy a nursing chair/glider....i only want things for baby now lol. We looked around the shopping centre but they were way more than i wanted to spend, so i have ordered a nice one online:

We also popped into mothercare as i wanted to look at the 2 prams i have narrowed it down to and i wasnt sure what one we shall get (or mum will, as she is buying for us!). Strainght away, bf was taking them down off the display stands and taking bits off and looking at what one was best.....really nice to see him so interested in this!! So he has made the deciding choice for us!!

    All exciting stuff!!

First of all im going to mention this before i forget, on Mon 15th June im pretty sure that was a definate baby movement i felt. I was sitting in the upstairs office at work talking to one of my colleagues when i felt like a flick on the inside of my belly. It was just that once. Then last night i felt something very similar but fainter. So, im guessing those bubbly movements i felt before was just gas as this was quite different. I cant wait until its more regular and i know for sure.

I feel like i havent had much time to just relax on the computer and update here lately, so much to do all the time!!

Bf finished his night shifts on Monday and painted the the second coat in the nursery, he done it much quicker than me, only took him half hour!! Then Tuesday we started putting all the furniture together and finished it Wednesday morning and evening. Thursday evening we put the border up although we ran out so until the last roll i have ordered arrives we cant finish that. I have just had a final tidy/polish/move around in there as to how i think i want things. Its still not finished yet as there are bits we arent putting up til last minute like the new curtains/light shade/bedding/rug/cot mobile etc. Im also going to get a few shelves put up and some co-ordinating pictures.
Here is what it looks like so far:

Looking lovely compared to the dingy junk room it used to be! Still a little sparse but as i said, not yet finished. Im glad the bulk of it is done now though.

The rest of the house is a complete mess, cardboard boxes everywhere, rolls of loft insulating filling up our bedroom (another job we must get done) and generally just untidy!!!!

I approached my boss this week about returning to work part time and i got quite a positive response. My only worry is there are some major changes in Feb as one of the bosses are retiring at a couple of my senior colleagues are going to be buying in - they may not want me part time. Im which case i shall be looking for a new job!!

Oh! And the big scan is all booked for 10th July at 2pm - i will be 21 weeks 2 days.
