My name is Jessica I am 26 and my DH is 28. We had two girls 7 and 5 and made a quick decision to have a vasectomy. It wasnt soon after that our lives evolved and our financial situation improved and we decided to have the reversal about 4 years after the vasectomy. I am starting this little journal for myself really, this can be my little frustration outlet. LOL
Anyways we have been trying since December so we are on Cycle 5 and I am two days past ovulation so CD16. My husband just finished a week of prednisone to reduce inflammation and hopefully improve motility. His first SA was really good like 120 million with 60% motility. Then this last SA went down to like 30% motility and we have been feeling a little bit stressed. Although I have read that the "overall average" of pregnancy achievment after vasectomy reversal is 12 -15 months. Next cycle we are going to try intracervical insemination. Im not feeling to positive about this cycle but I try to remain positive.
CD 17 3DPO. still too early to test. I am one of those people who promises they wont test early but always ends up testing early. Lately I have just been a little depressed kicking myself in the *** about even getting the vasectomy in the first place. He was only 24 when he got it but we were strongly pressured by his side of the family because we werent making a lot of money.
Next SA in 4 more weeks, then we will see if the inflammation is down and hopefully motility up. ICVR in Arizona is where we got the reversal done, and they sound pretty convinced that they will be able to get his numbers back up so we are trying to keep positive still. ( Although I have had a couple of private cries in the bathroom looking at another BFN ) I did however read a post from another woman whose husband had a reversal and they got pregnant 18 months after, so sometimes these things take some time I guess. I supposed sometimes it takes more time for the antibodies to decrease... well it makes sense ... not sure tho.
OUR 8 YEAR ANNIVERSARY ON MAY 15 !! My mom is taking the kids for a couple nights and we are just going to enjoy some time together, although AF will be visiting but at least no ttc pressure tho. Did I mention that his side of the family has no idea about the reversal ?? Well we are just not sure how the news will be received, so we are waiting until we achieve a pregnancy to tell them.
CD 18, So my DH has asked if he can have a couple of days off from taking the handful of vitamins/supplements/antioxidants everyday. LOL I understand tho I mean he is taking so much stuff at different times of the day too. So I said ok and I am past ovulation already this cycle anyways. Lately I have had this bad habit of buying baby clothes ... just a few things here and there has built up to be a closetful of clothes and supplies.... Is this bad? Do I have a problem? ... I wonder how many other women ttc do this...
Well I got called back into work for the next two days, will keep my mind off of things for a little while tho - but I love imagining another sweet baby .
CD 20, Well I certainly dont feel pregnant, just the same as my usual cd20ish feelings, usually around this time my bbs feel a little tender. Plus my temps are going down so that is definately not a sign of pregnancy. DH is on Ibuprofen now to fend off any inflammation. I really hope that we get preg by the end of the year. I just want this cycle to be over with already so I can move on to ICI next cycle. I am excited to try it - we'll see, maybe get lucky. I would love to add some blue to our family but at this point I would take an alien baby !!! LMAO oh ya just reminded myself to check out what kind of fertility treatment coverage we have...
CD 21, I def think some pms symptoms are kicking in today I am not in the nicest of moods, and on top of that I think I have a fever which means prob some kind of virus or something GREAT !! Hopefully I'm not sick all weekend. Not much new on the TTC front -- still trying to figure out what kind of insurance coverage we have for fertility treatments.
CD 25, I hate this time in the cycle when you know that you arent pregnant and you just want the next cycle to start already!!! DH is now officially in baby- making mode, I havent even had to remind him to take his supplements lately, and when ever I talk about trying something else he says "lets do it". This is a very big deal ! It makes me really happy though, and who knows maybe the perky positive attitude will help to get a BFP. Hubby is taking L- CARNITINE now and later he will start Selenium which is supposed to help with new cell growth, says our nurse so we will try it. Next SA is coming up, Im a little nervous about it, if the numbers plunge further down that will mean that we are definately on to IVF.
AF should be here tomarrow. DH told his brother who is also ttc with his wife about the reversal. So now they have turned it into a challenge who can get pg first. Leave it to men to turn everything into competition. I am looking forward to this cycle and the ICI. Will prob post in a couple weeks or so.
