Hello all. I would like to introduce myself. My name is Abida and I am 22. I live in London, but am orginally from Atlanta. People always ask, where do you like best? I have to say Atlanta!! I love the South. Best place on Earth, at least that I have seen. London has its really good points too, but there's nothing like nice weather, family and a continous supply of Mama's cornbread!!! I have had type 1 diabetes for 9 years now. I have been on an insulin pump for 7, which I absolutely love! It makes life much easier. As long as I test my blood sugar regularly, everything goes ok.
I have the same TTC concerns as everyone else. Last month, because I O'ed so late, we decided to start then, but no luck. So this month is our first official month of TTC. I had been monitoring my cervial fluid as a means of birth control for the past year. In fact the year before we had wanted to start our family but I didn't have the first clue about how to time it, etc etc. So i bought Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weshler and was so enthralled that I decided to hold off on the whole family thing and use it as birth control instead. I didn't monitor my temps but just the CF and had perfectly normal patterns. then starting last month all of the sudden I have no eggwhite when i use to have the kind that would stretch to my knees!!! TMI lol!!! I am taking my temps now and have seen two other potential probs from last month, but I am hoping it is kind of a freak cycle and things will even out. The first is that my LP was only 9 days last month and the second is that my temps are quite low. With most under 97 and only a couple over that but none above 97.2 preovulatory. i do get up quite early for morning prayers and like to stay up til midnight or 1 most nights and get up around 5.
This month the temps have been pretty much the same and I think it's like CD 19 with no signs of O coming. It might have passed actually because my cervix is back to low and hard. Yesterday I had waht could have been classified as eggwhite, but not stretchy and kind of like a glob instead of real eggwhite, TMI again... sorry!!
My sister is expecting her second baby in September and I really wanted to be showing by then so i can go home and have a baby shower and do some maternity clothes shopping- I LOVE maternity clothes LOL!!
My husband said he wanted to not TTC for a couple of months, but I think this is his hint that he doesn't want to know about it, so I will still be actively TTC and let him just think I am feeling romantic LOL!!! BTW, we have been married for over two years and have one 'baby' already. A lovely cat named Sakinah who is our pride and joy!! I had to cry and beg for her because my husband did not want a cat, but now they are like two peas in a pod so we need a baby to even out our family LOL!!!
I hope you will enjoy my story and I will try to post links and talk more about TTC with diabetes.
