Hi Ladies!

We've been pretty quiet lately. So what are you all lately? Anything new going on? Anything totally random you want to share?

These threads are always fun!

I've been really busy at work, trying to finish some things before break. I'm looking forward to having time off to do stuff around the house and to plan some activities with the boys.

we are trying to sell our condo. it's all consuming for me. our renters moved out with one-month notice and we NEED to sell it. we really can only afford two mortgages for a couple of months. please keep your fingers crossed for me!!

also, the boys' 3rd birthday is planned for june 11. not sure how big it'll be this year. luckily we had already purchased lots of the party favors, decorations and their big gift—a wooden cabin/cottage for the back yard—before we got notice from the renters. my dad has been coming over to help prep the area (we ended up creating a small patio out of reclaimed rubber pavers) and next week we start building the house.

Nothing too interesting here. I'm a little tired these days since Jordan hasn't been sleeping that well. We have some traveling coming up now that we are at the beginning of summer break. We have three reunions in the next four weeks and I'm so nervous about how Jordan will sleep. Wish us luck.

I guess the most exciting thing I could share is Jordan's interest in signing. Her favorites seem to be cheese, all gone and more. Biggrin Sometimes she will be looking at something and you can see she wants to communicate so she will just use a random sign she knows. So, I'm doing my best to learn more so I can teach them to her! Today she even made up her own gesture for "trash".

Good luck selling your condo! Sending good vibes your way. Smile

Aiden is trying to crawl. Right now he just looks like he's drunk or doing a weird swim.

Other than that, life's pretty boring. My husband trains all the time. I'm just trying to keep sane. Smile

What a great video Jackie! Jordan started out crawling that way. She would lean all they way to the right and then all the way to the left. I love his face when he finally gets to the flip flop.

Nothing too exciting going on here. Big family crabbing trip next month to the Oregon Coast. Other than that, just working and spending time with DH and Alison when I am home. Alison is working on walking. She will forget to hold onto something and take a few steps but as soon as she realizes that she had let go she drops to her knees. Silly girl!

I'm in summer school so that I can take off most of the fall to be with the new baby. I have my first OB clinical tomorrow and I'm pumped. I spend the first 5 weeks in L&D and Mother Baby and then I move to the big children's hospital and do pediatrics for 5 weeks.

Tyson is working a crazy lot of days. He's home between 24-48 hours a week most weeks. He does have a vacation week at the end of June, so I'm grateful for that. We're headed to Washington (Tacoma area) for a big family wedding on 7/2 and Daphne is going to be a flower girl. She's adorable in the dress. Smile

Good luck with all the traveling, Kayla. I hope the reunions are fun! Cute about Jordan's signing!

Kayla, good luck! I hope Jordan sleeps okay while you're away. I would worry how M would do, too. We've only spent 1 night in a hotel w/him and it didn't go great!

Jackie, now the real fun begins!! Wink

Kristi, Go, Alison, go!

Holly, I'm looking forward to seeing party pictures. You always have such great ideas! I hope your condo sells soon. Has there been any showings?

Joy, Daphne is going to be the cutest flower girl! I bet she'll do perfect!

Julie, I'm also anxious to see party pictures from Michael's party this weekend! Will you be sneaking another positive pregnancy test in with those pictures this year? LOL

I have my 12 week OB appt this afternoon. Wish me luck!!

Same here! I just finished my last report yesterday! :woohoo:

Isaiah is on a swim team this summer. So, practice everyday and meets every Tuesday and Thursday through June. We are going to be busy. I also have an offer to teach Zumba at a facility for at-risk youth. I used to work there as the head of their outpatient counseling services. I am not sure I want to do that though. I am afraid of overextending myself. I want to get my house really clean this summer and do some painting. I won't get that done if I am doing too much during th day. Plus, spending time with my family is the priority.

Jackie- That video is adorable! LOVE it!

Julie- Was M's party this weekend? I want to see pictures too!! I bet it turned out great!

Ashley- Good luck with your appointment! I hope it all goes well. Does all of your family know yet, or are you still keeping it quiet?

Joy- Full-time school, a toddler, pregnant and a husband who is always gone? I don't know how you're staying afloat! You're amazing! I can't wait to see Daphne as a flower girl! She's going to look so adorable! And can I say, I'm so glad her curls showed up!

Cali and Melanie- Enjoy your summer! You guys earned it! Biggrin

Kristi- Sounds like she is so close! Yay for walking!! I always loved that milestone. The babies find more trouble once they're more mobile, but the happiness that comes with that new found independence is so fun to watch!

Things with us are good. I think I have stress fracture in my foot from running. Sad It hurts like a MOTHER when I try to run on it. I've taken a few days off and have been R.I.C.Eing it (Rest, Ice, Compress, Elevate). I'm going to try to run again today. If it still hurts I guess I'll have to go get some x-rays. I hope it's not a fracture. I'd feel a bit silly to have a real running injury since I hardly feel like a real runner. Plus, I'll have to take off 6-8 weeks and I have another race scheduled in 2 weeks. Boo!

My friend is also in LD right now at 28 weeks trying to get her contractions to stop. they feel pretty confident that she is not going to deliver in the next week or two, but are preparing for an early delivery. After all I went through mentally and emotionally with Andrew being a preemie, it makes me sick to think she might be part of this club. I'm really hoping that these girls don't show up until 35+ weeks. it's bringing back a lot of anxity for me.

Melanie, your summer sounds crazy busy!!

Amber, I hope your foot gets better soon! That's not fun! Hopefully it's nothing too serious. Your friend who's in preterm labor, is this the one you just threw a baby shower for? I hope the babies can continue to bake for atleast a couple more weeks!

No, we haven't told our families yet. Just each of our parents know, and my sister.

Joy, you are BUSY! How in the world do you find time to come on here? Lol

Amber, I hope it's not a fracture! Does not sound pleasant.

Kristi, crabbing sounds fun! Smile

I'm thinking I'm going to drive home in a month, so I can see both families and attend a college friend's wedding. DH can't go obviously. It's a 14 hour drive (plane tickets are ridiculously expensive and then I wouldn't be able to see friends b/c there would be no car for me to use). Beginning to wonder about my sanity, but there's nothing keeping me here really. I might have to break the trip up into two days and stop in Dallas since that's the half way point. Have I lost my mind?! lol.

KUP if you decide to teach it! At what age did Isaiah start swimming?

Isaiah started lessons at about 3.5. He was in them consistently until he was 6, then the twins took over our life and we couldn't get him there. He went back for one session this spring just to refresh his skills. Our hope is that if he enjoys this, we will start him in the local US Swimming club in the fall. I am pretty sure Isaiah is going to need individual sports. He is so social that he tries to talk to his teammates in soccer.

Sorry its causing you so much stress. I hope it gets better soon for her. I went into hospital both times with ptl at 24 and 25 weeks and my kiddos were delivered at 39 and 38 weeks, respectively. Hope she gets to join that club!

Definitely break it up. That's a long ride for him and a LONG drive for you!

Around here, well my thesis is due June 14, so I'm reading and writing until it feels like my hands are going to fall off. My bathroom is still in pieces as I've had to put it on hold until my thesis is done. Alicia turns 3 on the 7th of June and DH turns 40 on the 13th. So going to have to have the parties after my thesis goes in...just no time to get organized before that! DSD turns 10! tomorrow...I can't believe she's 10...she wasn't even 2 when I met DH. Gosh time flies! I got a plot at the community garden near work so I have to find some time to plant that. I did get my pots and front garden planted last weekend. Maybe this weekend I can find some time to hit my garden plot. I'm frantically trying to learn a whole new set of skills in a job expansion. Lovely timing. DH is still job hunting. Done with training for foster parenting, just waiting on all the darn paperwork to go through. Hopefully we'll have another LO to love by the fall. That's about it. I can't wait for June 14, lol!

Nicole, I haven't heard of the community garden thing but it sounds like a great idea! So do you do all of the tending to your garden, or is there somebody that waters it daily?

Amber, how is your friend doing on bedrest? Is she still hanging in there?

Hi! Yes, I do all the gardening...they supply the land, water and compost and someone comes in to rotatill. Its a pretty good deal, I'm excited to be able to grow all the stuff to make my spaghetti sauce this fall!

I'm concerned about Amber's friend too...hope all is well. KUP Amber, if you're around.

I have absolutely nothing planned for the week. Since Aiden likes the base swimming pool so much, I'm sure we'll go back there a couple of times this week. I need to plan out my trip home a bit more. I think I'm leaving in two weeks.

I've been super productive today. I've been slacking -- our house was/is seriously beginning to fall apart. Loads upon loads of dirty laundry, clean laundry that's been sitting in baskets for who knows how long?, bathrooms...you could probably get sick in...ugh. But I have been feeling amazing today (didn't throw up - not even once!!) so I did a TON of laundry and put it all away. Cleaned the bathrooms, swept the floors, went to the grocery store, and I think that's it. Oh! I had 5 dirty sippy cups in my car so I brought all of those in (and washed them, too, LOL). I felt so amazing that I had to find the heartbeat on the doppler - 160bpm! It's been a good day. Miles has been napping for just over 2 hours, and we're headed to a graduation party when he wakes up.

Yay for a productive day Ashley! So glad you're feeling better!

Diapers are good, Jackie...

Got my garden mostly in yesterday...I have to go back and separate my onions and plant the squash seeds. Gave up last night because the deer flies were out and I'm allergic. The kids spent several hours in the pool yesterday and had a great time! DH's car died briefly yesterday, fortunately our neighbour is a mechanic/tow truck driver and got him back on the road. He bent his gear shift loading a lawn mower in the front seat  Only my DH would pull something like that!

Supposed to be hot and sunny here today, yay! I have to finish getting organized for the workshop I'm hosting at work this week and write the exam for the course I took last week. Tomorrow is my last class before my thesis is due and Alicia turns 3 on Wednesday! I have to organize some cupcakes or something for daycare. We're not having her party until the 18th because DH turns 40 next week and with my thesis, there's just no hosting 2 parties. We had a party for DSD on Friday night. She turned 10. I met DH when she wasn't yet 2...I remember when we had Alicia and were walking along pushing a stroller with this tiny baby in it, watching the two older girls running ahead and saying to DH, how is this tiny baby going to become one of those? Watching her with her sisters this weekend I can already see the girl that is growing up before my eyes! She'll be turning 10 before I know it!

Okay, gotta shower and get ready for work, Hope everyone has a good day!

Jackie, have a great trip!

I've been super busy. This morning I had T's 9 month well baby visit. He's doing great. Smile After getting peed on during his weight check (IDK why the nurse had me remove his diaper... I haven't had to do that since before his 6mth check up), I learned he's 15lbs 11oz. He's tiny, but is following his growth chart (Jake was the same). He's crawling and cruising everywhere, standing on his own for a few seconds. His new favorite activity is pushing his walker across the room...I have a feeling he'll be walking before his first bday, like his big brother did! The only concern I had is that he gags on most of the finger foods I give him. The dr said not to worry as he just falls in the category of babies who gag Wink After the appt, I took both boys to see a local band that plays kids music (despite desperately wanting to change my shirt that T got wet). The boys had a great time Smile

Welcome, Rhi. Wish I remembered you from this board but with my lack of sleep I've lost my brain. Wink Tell us more about you! Looking forward to getting to know you.

Hi Readyfor baby and AShn. Thanks for the welcome. I am a stay at home mom. We tried to get pregnant for over 3 yrs and once I moved to Oklahoma, my new obgyn found out why i was having issues and put me on meds to try to fix it and help me. Within 2 months of diagnosis and medication, i was pregnant. I also had dropped 10 lbs. it was great. Smile I love hockey, music, movies, cooking, fishing and camping. Smile I am just trying to find some friends to talk to since i had to move to another state in my last month of pregnancy and dont have anyone here.

Cali - don't laugh but M2 weighs the same as T! Sounds like T is a busy, happy baby! How are things going for J's big day?

That's great, Rhi. Sorry you had a rough road before that point. How long has it been since you moved? I can't imagine moving and having a little one. Are there mom/baby groups in your area? The library? Y? Barnes & Noble? What is your favorite thing to cook?

How was Alicia's bday?

Hi Rhi!

Welcome back. I wish I remembered you too. What was your screen name from a year ago? Maybe that will jog my memory.

Sorry you're struggling to meet new poeple. That's hard and making new friends gets tougher as an adult. There is a website called Meetup.com that has playgroups all over the US. I bet there are a ton in your area. If one is not a good fit, you can find another one that is. Smile

Cali- sounds like the boys are doing great! You're tiny too- so I wouldn't expect your babies to be all that big. My kids are itty bitty too.

Julie- What are you growing in your garden? I really wanted to get ours going this year, but with marathon training and party planning it just didn't get done. Next year for sure!! I'm already planning it out! Smile

Ashley- Glad to hear you're feeling better! Aren't dopplers fun! I loved having one for that little bit of reassurance.

Not too much is new with me. I decided not to do the race I wanted to do this weekend because of the trouble my foot is giving me. Rest has been good for it. I ran today and felt fine. So it prolly was just some sort of overuse injury. I'm still trying to take it easy though, just incase. Now I have lots of free time on my hands though. I' ve been busy sewing up stuff for my friends baby and playing at the park! I', loving the warmer weather. Dirol

Oh my, my computer is being sooooo slow.

Amber, I'm glad your foot is feeling better!

Rhi, I think I remember seeing your old screen name around on the TTC boards a bit before. It is hard to meet new friends the older you get. I was going to suggest a moms group. I hope you start to like it more. You probably will as Elliot gets a bit older.

Rhi, we moved here at the very beginning of August. Aiden was born November 2nd. It's been hard putting myself out there to meet people. I feel like every time I meet someone that I feel that I connect with, that person moves. Or I think we're hitting it off just to discover, not so much. The past few days I've been trying to find someone to join me at the base pool. Gave up and went by myself this afternoon. And who was there? Two women and their babies (about DS's age) whom I had asked if they wanted to go at some point today and they both said they were too busy. I definitely suggest a mom's group of some sort though. At least you have something in common to start off a conversation. I really wish I lived in a bigger city where they are things like that! I have one weekly playgroup that Aiden and I attend. I like getting out, but I parent so differently that they look at me like I'm an alien when I say things like "we don't CIO" and the topic of the day's group is "CIO." lol. Anyways, I sympathize! At least I know I'm moving this fall. Don't know where, but at least I'm moving! lol.

Jackie, are you serious?! They said no and then you saw them there anyways!? I bet they felt REALLY stupid. Maybe they just didn't want to commit to a time frame or something with nap and feeding time?

Yeah. I'm serious. I always let others choose the time of day something is because Aiden is such a flexible baby. Oh well. Not like I'm stuck with these people for too much longer. Wink

Jackie - sorry that happened to you. What d!p****s they are! I agree with Ashley, they must've felt really stupid. And not to say this has anything to do with how you parent but can I just say how disturbing it is that so many people are so stuck in their ways that they can't support or understand that there are many different ways to parent. Not everyone does things the same way and we are all moms. That should unite us and whether we SAH, WAH, send our LO's to daycare, etc shouldn't matter. Some are so quick to give/have opinions. Okay, rant over. Wink

I'm a good thread killer sometimes. lol. Wink

I'm home with the families now. I drove it in one day. Took me 15 hours from leaving my house to arriving at my parent's house. DS finally had his first tooth pop through last week. He slept pretty much the whole time in the car since he had slept so little the days prior. I'm at the ILs house this whole week. Woo.
