Isaiah was a very brave boy. Unfortunately, we still have no real reason for his sinus issues and rhinitis. All of the tests came back negative. He did not react to any allergens again. This is great news! I am glad that we do not have major reactions or big allergy issues. However, it is frustrating to have to medicate your child for something that you don't have any answers for at the moment.
Isaiah was so wired after the appt. His adrenaline was on overload. I tried really hard to prep him, but I also waited until right before the appt. to tell him because I didn't want him focusing on what the tests would be like, how bad it would hurt, etc. and have a rough day at school.
Man, that is frusterating. Wonder what's causing his sypmtoms then?
I agree, he is very brave! I pop allergy medication like it's candy and I have no idea what I'm allergic to either. I'm way too chicken to get an allergy test. My Doctor always offers, and I always say, No way, Jose! They'd have to strap me down to do it.
That's great that there are not any major allergies but it stinks to not have any answers. My dad has horrible allergies and over time he has found certain triggers. I know cinnamon and peppers are two of them. Of course he still eats them, especially peppers. He just cannot breath out of his nose afterward.
Are you thinking it's more food related or something in the air?
Huh. So glad no big allergies to report but also wishing you had answers. What exactly do they do for the allergy tests?
Kayla - We are thinking air, like pollen and mold. He reacts most during the spring and fall. Summer is dicey. Winter tends to be a reprieve, but not this year. The weather has been so unpredictable and wet in Indiana.
Julie - The do a scratch test, where they scratch your skin and put the allergen on it. They also do a test where they inject the allergen just under the skin. Isaiah had to do both. Poor kid.
