Ava's Big gril room (Pic heavy!)

Ava's room is almost finished. I'm just waiting on a few more things. He bed arrived much quicker than I expected so I couldn't resist sharing pictures. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, It is girly and princessey, without looking like Disney puked in there, but it can also grow with her. Ava loves it too. Smile

the Befores
this is how it looked when she came home from the hospital. it was basically the same, but the crib was converted to the toddler bed.

And the Afters
I made or altered almost everything in the room, so it could be really personalized. Sorry for the lousey picture quality. I took them the night we finished it and now I'm too lazy to go take more.

Wow! I love so many things about this room! The bed looks great in there, too! Love the color of the walls and love that you have the toy shelf in the closet (that is where ours is, too; however, now we have other toys that have spilled out into the room!). Love the art on the walls. Did you create all of the different art yourself?? Wonderful job!!! I love it! (Oh and the chandelier (sp?) is a great touch!

My Mom made the cross-stitch after Ava was born. Ava and I did everything else. I even painted those 4 pink princess silhouettes. I found an etsy place that sold them as cutouts for 5$ a piece. Apparently that was too much for me, so I spend hours with a tiny paint brush. lol Funny what I choose to be frugal on. Wink The biggest labor was painting that closet. it took so much longer than I expected. I found a shape on google images and traced all the lines then went back and painted. it was such a chore! It needs to be touched up, but I just don't want to do it. lol! Thankfully you can't tell unless you get really close and look. I like how it turned out. Ava wanted a pink wall, so I think the closet was a good compromise. We took off the doors so she could see it. Now it's a favorite play place. I think I'll do the same thing to Drew's room once the time comes.

My MIL is cross-stitching this for the white frame. http://www.etsy.com/listing/96693860/once-upon-a-time-personalized-fine-art I thought it would look cuter as a cross-stitch than a print. I need to do something with that corkboard. We made the little flowers on the closet curtains. I was thinking of making smaller ones and putting them on push pins to dress up that corkboard a little. I want to find something to put above the dark pink frame above her dresser as well. then we'll be finished. Smile
