I'm co-hosting a baby shower for one of my very dearest and best friends sometime in February or early March. I think we've decided on a tea party theme. I'm going to comb local thrift stores for missmatching tea cups and saucers so that it has kind of a shabby-chic feel. We're going to send guests home with little sachets of the kind of tea that my friend drinks every day. I was also thinking of serving scones, petit fours and cucumber sandwiches.
Anyone have ideas for theme friendly decorations, invitations, games etc? I really want to make this special for her. She's very crafty and threw me a beautiful shower for Daphne. You ladies are always hosting such great parties, I thought I'd ask here.
What a fun idea! I really like a few website for party ideas. Here's what they have for tea parties.
This one is for a littel gir, but it has some cute ideas. You might be able to pull
For decorations, I'd definitely have a bunding, and flowers. Etsy is full of ideas, and it would be super easy to make your own. Other than that. I'd probably keep it simple. Maybe watch the thrift stores for cute sheets that can be used for talbe clothes.
Pinterest had a super cute card with a bunting and birds on it that would be cute for invitations that would be easy to DIY. I'll find it and pin it for you.
How cute would this be on the cake?
And invitations like this? But sprused uo a lttle. Maybe with a cute stamp of a bird or something?
And, and, and! You could make her onesies like this!
Okay- back to my own life now before I get totally carried away. I'm totally using this theme for the next party I have!
Joy - I don't have much time right now. Someone is about to wake up but I threw a tea baby shower and served exactly what you are considering serving. I can share later. Loved the invitations I had, too! Still have a copy. And I have pictures somewhere. (It was for my sister so I kept some things from this)
Love the idea for the theme!
Here is a cute idea for dressing up tea bags.
Here is a fun idea for table decor.
I love paper pom poms! Easy, cheap and look really cute. You can get any color you need at Hobby Lobby. (You can find a lot of tutorials on how to make these.)
I'm sort of obsessed with fabric flowers right now. Felt and knit fabrics make the cutest flowers. I wonder if those would come in handy for decorating gift boxes or the table?
Oh my, that onesie is cute!! So many great ideas in here. I love the pendant flag banner things, lol. Does she know what she's having?
I wish I could offer some tips! I'm in the process of planning a co-ed shower and I've done multiple searches on Etsy as well as google images for ideas. GL!

Joy and Cali- Have you looked on Pinterest? I find tons of ideas on there. It's a great resource for party planning.
