Books, books books!

What are you currently reading?
What book did you just finish?
would you reccomend either?

I'm currently reading: The Help. I really like it so far.

I just finished reading:
- Chelsea Handlers book: Lies Chelsea Handler told me. It was fairly lame and not worth the read unless you really love her, or have nothing else to read.
-A few running books
-and Water for Elephants, which I also really liked.

I am reading "Clash of Kings" and just finished "Game of Thrones". I've been told the sequel is finally coming out, so I'm re-reading so I remember the story.

I'm currently reading Unconditional Parenting. The last book that I read is The Game of Love. A military wife friend wrote it and it's her first book. Smile

Can't really say much about UP yet since I'm only on the first chapter. lol. I really enjoyed The Game of Love and think others should read it too. Even if she wasn't a friend, I would still recommend the book!

Nothing currently
Just finished The Last Page - my friend Lacy wrote it so I bought it to support her. I really liked it and am looking forward to the next few she has coming out soon. I would recommend it - its a quick (cheap), entertaining read.

I downloaded that book tonight. Sounds like a good read! Smile

Does Jane Austen fan-fiction count? Smile

Pass some of those along! Biggrin

I just read Claude and Camille but I still have about 20 pages left. I haven't picked it up in about two months. I really need to finish it! I enjoyed it but I'm not sure others would like it as much as I did. It's historical fiction based on Claude Monet.

The last book I actually finished was Sense and Sensibility. It's was my least favorite of the Austen novels. (Not counting Mansfield Park, which I still want to read.)

I stopped reading Claude and Camille b/c a friend loaned me Jane Eyre. I am really enjoying it so far.

I'm working through The Hunger Games series. WONDERFUL! Highly recommend reading them!

I also just finished Janet Evanovich Smokin' Seventeen.

I read The Help and Water for Elephants and thought they were both good but not as amazing as everyone said...maybe my expectations were too high.

Anybody else on Goodreads.com? Friend me if you are. My SIL got me started on that. You can keep track of "Have Read" books "To Read" books and read other peoples reviews, etc...

Good to know - I have my expectations set really high for The Help after all the rave reviews I get from friends at work.

I just finished Flash and Bones by Kathy Reichs. I also just finished Retribution by Sherrilyn Kenyon. It is part of the Dark Hunter series. I am a paranormal fiction lover, so most of the books I read revolve around that genre.

I am currently reading Seraph of Sorrow by Maryjanice Davidson and Anthony Alongi. It is book #4 in the Jennifer Scales series. It is teen fiction.

I love Maryjanice Davidson. She is hilarious. Her Betsy Taylor series is great. The first book in that series made me literally laugh out loud. That book is Undead and Unwed. It is a little racy and has swear words, but if you can get past that, it really is quite good.

I also love Janet Evanovich. Funny books. I love Stephanie Plum. Biggrin

I thought The Help was really good. Granted, I didn't hear much about it, but I would stay up later than I wanted reading it. It is a book I would read again, and I don't reread books often. A easy read. I want to see the movie now too.

Definitely pick it up, Jenn. It's worth a read.

I loved The Help, but hadn't heard the hype when I read it, so I had no expectations. I did LOVE it though. It's been hard to start a new book after that one. My mom is reading Like Water For Elephants though, and I'll read that after her.

I've been reading kind of boring non fiction books though. Omnivore's Dilemma, Healthy Child, Healthy World, and Raising Your Spirited Child.
