    Default Elf on a Shelf

Is anyone using the Elf on a Shelf with the little ones? What sorts of mischief does your Elf get into? This is the first year we've had an Elf and Jake is LOVING it. It has been so much fun and Jake gets up excited to see what his Elf did the night before

We don't have one but I think I am going to get one for next year. Deacon has seen and heard people talk about it and he kind of gets it this year. Next year should be fun.

Yes, you should get one! You get to name him and then when you wake up he will get to search for him. As soon as Jake wakes up, he asks what our Elf is doing and he asks to go search for him. He ends up laughing as he thinks his Elf is so silly. It's very cute and a fun activity for this time of year.

We got one as a gift last year from my SIL. I thought about setting him out this year, but thanks to the moving he's still sitting in his box. I'll get it out next year. Aiden will still be pretty young, so he'll probably just move around a few times rather than get into mischief.

I wanted to do one this year. I have a gift card to a christams store, so I want to get it from there. But I'm not brave enough to take 2 toddlers into a store PACKED full of breakable ornaments by myself. Next year for sure we'll do it! It looks fun and Pinterest has so many ideas.

That does sound fun! Maybe I'll have to get one for next year. This year I'm wayyyy too lazy. The second both kids are sleeping at night I go to bed. LOL

Okay. After reading this thread I realized that I had the wrong impression about what Elf on the Shelf is! Ha! Nope. Don't have one. I'll have to check it out further and maybe for next year.

I am thinking about getting one for next year. Alison is still a bit too young to really understand that she has to be good cause Santa is watching. Next year will be different though. It is my understanding that it comes with a book that has rules. I am thinking that we will probably make our own family rules for it though.

It does come with a book and there is a new 30 min cartoon for kids to watch about the Elf on a Shelf. Basically, the book explains that you need to name your Elf, you cannot touch your Elf to prevent him/her from losing their magic, the Elf will fly to the North Pole at night when you are sleeping, and when you wake up, you need to find where he ended up/ what he decided to do after he returned from the North Pole. Very simple. Jake is at the perfect age for this. I've been taking pictures of all of our Elf activities. It's fun
