Favorite Fall Recipies?

I'm in a comfort food cooking mood! Do you have any favorite things you make during the Fall?

I make Apple spice Bars every year. They are amazing! this is on our agenda for today. Yum!

Well - I'll pretend we have a fall here and play along. Fall starts today right? Its in the mid-90's here with no end in sight. Blah!

I love chili - I don't have an actual recipe though. I just wing it each time.

Pumpkin bars, pumpkin muffins and butternut squash soup. Those are staples at our house in the fall. Not quite there yet, maybe in a couple of weeks. I'm eeking out these last days of warm weather and bbq season.

Today I'm making a Chicken Pot Pie for the first time. I hope it turns out! I'd love for it to be a new fall favorite. lol ( http://www.tasteofhome.com/Recipes/Chicken-Potpie-3 )

Yum! Homemade chicken potpie is the BEST! I'm adding that to my dinners for next week!

One trick for chicken pot pie is you can top it with homemade biscuits instead of pie crusts on top and bottom. Saves you a little on calories and it's easy!

Now I'm craving pumpkin bread. YUM.

I make pumpkin bread a lot. Smile

I also make a lot of soups. I have a great Italian Wedding Soup recipe somewhere...

Although it won't be cool enough here for that for a few more months.

Jackie- I'm so excited to try that Pumpkin Latte! Sounds perfect for tomorrow morning! And that salad sounds awesome!

Kayla- Homemade biscuits? Like Bisquick or do you have a recipe?

I was thinking it'd be good over biscuits! Our school had a meal called "Chicken Ala King" that was just that -- biscuits with the gravy/veggie filling poured over the top. It was SO GOOD. I'll have to try that next time!

I just used Bisquick but I'm not sure how my sister did it. I guess whichever you prefer? Or even out of a can if you are feeling lazy! Wink
