    Question Google+ (XP)

    What's the scoop with Google+?

From what I understand it is Google's new social networking site. Is that correct?

Who is using it? What do you think of it? Can you just sign up or do you need an invite? I keep hearing of people receiving invites - are there certain parts of Google+ that you can only enter with an invite?

    Just curious!

Yup. DH & I joined. It's by invite. I can e-mail you one if you'd like!

I'm on it. With only one lonely friend on there. I don't quite get it. I know a couple of people who use it, but they won't "friend" me or "circle" me or whatever. And since you have to have email addresses, I probably won't use it because I don't bother with email addresses with most people I know these days. I FB message them or text them.

I have like 20 something invites though. HA HA.

So what the heck is so great about it?!

Its the same concept as facebook. But its better in that you can make "circles" like groups. All of your friends go in a circle that you put them in. Then when you post a status you can say which circle sees it. So for my mommy friends with kids D's age I could post about toddler stuff without annoying family and friends without kids because they would never see it. Or I could post a status for my family to see about an upcoming gathering without all my friends and coworkers seeing.

That would be nice for my busy body, know-it-all Aunt. Ugh! She drives me crazy but I can't unfriend her without drama. And, when I block her from certain parts of my page she asks me 100 times a day why she can't see something, but she can see them when she logs in from other family members accounts. Why people give her their passwords is beyond me.

I have my wall and photos blocked from certain groups of people - old HS friends and coworkers mainly - and I have people ask me a lot why I have them blocked.

Why, why, why do people ask? I think if you're blocked from seeing something the reasoning is pretty obvious- because they don't want you to see it! sheese!
