Halloween!

Do you know what your LO's are going to be dressing up as this year?

J has his mind set on being a firefighter; although all of the costumes I can find are yellow or black... and he said he wants red...

And I have no idea what to dress T up as. I need to start looking at costumes!

I found this pirate costume online:

Photobucket

I really want to get it. Not sure if I will be able to keep that little scarf thing on her head though. If we don't do the pirate costume, I am not sure what else. Last year she was an elephant and hated it.

I have no clue! Isaiah has a Dash costume (from Mr. Incredible) that I bought on clearance about 3 years ago. It finally fits him. He may dress up in that constume. As for my girls, I am at a loss. I think that we have a Squirt costume (the baby sea turtle from Finding Nemo) that Keira can wear this year. I also have an Aristocats costume that Sarafina may fit into (of course, I think it is Toulouse (sp?), who is a boy kitten, and not Marie, but whatever). It was Isaiah's first Halloween costume. I think the pattern was 12M. This way, we have a Disney theme for our kids. Lol

Deacon saw this one in a catalog and is saying he wants it. We'll see though by the time Halloween rolls around.

I have a Thomas the Train costume for Miles, but now he says he wants to be a Pirate.

Cali, I think we have a red firefighter's jacket for dress-up if you're interested. Just have the jacket though...although I'm not sure the size...it might be a little big but I could try it on Miles to see!

I have no idea what to dress Aiden as. Most of the costumes I've seen for his size are way too warm for a Halloween here. It was in the 90s during trick or treating time last year. I'll take him around to the neighbors and want to get a bunch of pictures. Assuming I can decide and find a costume that'll work!

I got this one off of Ebay last week. I was just bidding for fun (and got a little competitive) and then I won. Wink The previous owner added some little bows to it too. I put it on her and it's pretty darn cute. I am hoping one of my sisters has a Halloween party this year so she will have somewhere to wear it, lol.

Ava wants to be "Queen of the Oski bugs" from Yo Gabba Gabba. ROFL I'm hoping her little heart is not set on that, because I don't want to try to make it for her.

I have no idea what I'll dress Andrew up as. I'm looking for something that does not have a hat to complete the costume. He doesn't like to wear them.

Alison loves Yo Gabba Gabba...thankfully she is still too young to understand Halloween so I still get to pick her costumes! HA!!

Kayla, that little bee costume is SO cute! I love it.

Daphne changes her mind daily. She's obsessed with Halloween and plays "trick o treat" with her dollhouse almost every day. Some days she wants to be a cat, some days Angelina Ballerina and some days a pumpkin. I would like her to be a black cat...but we'll see.

I think we're going to dress Mac as a pumpkin. I knit him a little pumpkin hat this summer. Hopefully it will fit at Halloween.

Alicia will be a butterfly and DJ will be either Pooh, Eyeore or Tigger. We have all three from previous years and I bought the butterfly last week on kijiji. Can't wait...hopefully this year they are not so shy about going to the door...last year we took them to 2 neighbours and they wouldn't say a word, lol.

princess. one of her godmothers got her a princess dress....I think it was meant for an evening party, but honestly, it looks so much like a princess dress, so formal and fancy - I don't think it would work for an evening party, even a fancy one. It comes with a white faux fur capelet over her shoulders, perfect for trick or treating on a potentially cold evening.

I just need to get her a tiara, cute shoes and other princess accessories. Honestly...I might actually pull of the cinderella look b/c the dress is in that same shade of light blue! Just have to find "glass" slippers....

Very cute all!

Jackie I have the same trouble! It seems all the really cute costumes are very heavy.

Cali I found this on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Boy-Fire-Fighter-Toddler-Costume/dp/B001B159NU

Grace will be another Disney princess. Ariel was her birthday party theme so I'm not surprised. We'll be back at WDW Oct 2nd. DH & I will be dressing up for the first time. Daddy will be King Triton. I'm dressing as Cruella Deville and Ben a dalmatian. Biggrin

Funny Jackie and Beth have trouble finding light costumes...we have trouble finding heavy ones that don't cost a FORTUNE!.

Black cat was my second choice. Both of my nieces were black cats around the age of 2 or 3 and it was adorable. I think we may have to do black cat next year since it seems to be tradition in this family.

Ok, am I the only one who doesn't "get" Yo Gabba Gabba? We went to a YGG bday party last week and we watched an episode just to check it out. I normally do not share my opinion regarding certain things with J, to prevent from swaying his opinion, but I told him and DH that I didn't like it LOL. (No offense to any YGG lovers out there Smile )

Re: Andrew's costume... I'm wondering if that's what I need to do for T as well. Although so many cute costumes have a hat/ head piece...

Thanks for the link Smile

How cute that you will be dressing up as a family! Have you found a cute dalmation costume? That was something I was considering for T, but really I have no idea what we will decide on.

Love all of the other ideas!!

Cali- I hated Yo gabba Gabba when I first saw it, but one day, I was crazy tired and it was on. Both kis sat GLUED to the T.V watching it. Now, Yo Gabba Gabba has grown on me. As much as it pains me to say. Wink

I've never seen YGG and know nothing about it...

Cute costumes in this thread!

Just ordered this for Matthew. http://www.potterybarnkids.com/products/bear-costume-baby/?pkey=e%7Cbear%7C7%7Cbest%7C0%7C1%7C24%7C%7C5&cm_src=PRODUCTSEARCH||NoFacet-_-NoFacet-_-NoMerchRules-_-

Michael not sure yet. I'm guessing he'll pick either Thomas, Lightning McQueen or a lion (he loves lions right now) and since Matthew is going to be a bear I'd kind of like M to be a lion. We'll see....

No offense to YGG fans, but YGG is banned from our house. We do not watch it ever. Someone was high on something illegal when writing for that show. ROFL I don't really get it. I don't like the Fresh Beat Band either. I am not sure why I don't like that one. Give me a good Dora, Diego, or Backyardigans episode and I am happy. Biggrin

Julie- I think a lion and a bear would be cute!

I am jealous of your Dis trip. We hope to one day be an annual WDW family, but for now, it is just when we can afford it. I love your costumes. Very, very cute!

It's official. M is going to be a lion. I asked him numerous times if he wanted to be Thomas, Lightning McQueen or a lion and his response was always "ROAR." Now that I've ordered his costume I'm not going to ask anymore. Lol

LOL Julie! A bear and a lion is cute.

Melanie, I agree! I turn the TV off if YGG is all that's on. The other show I don't let Miles watch is Spongebob.

Cali, I wanted to tell you that I saw a Red Firefighter costume at Toys R Us. It's in with the pretend play stuff by Imaginarium.

Oh, Spongebob is on the banned list also. My DS tells people he is not allowed to watch Spongebob! We get some weird looks sometimes . They are very few Nick shows that my son is allowed to watch. Since his is older, we do allow Penguins of Madagascar and Supah Ninjas. The occasional iCarly will make it as well, but that is super rare. However, I find that our list is expanding as he approaches 8.

LOL, I LOVE Yo Gabba Gabba. I especially like how they have all my favorite bands as guest stars. Smile One of the guys that created it is from the Aquabats...DH and I danced to their song Red Sweater as our first dance at our wedding.

We have a YGG soundtrack CD in our car that gets a lot of airtime...the music on that show is just so good. I want DH to be DJ Lance Rock for Halloween...he's got enough time to get the fro going. I'll have to search around to see if I can find a costume online. Ha.

Joy- There are a ton of YGG costumes out there! And I agree! Tyson would make an excellent DJ Lance.

I'm always surprised at the guests who do YGG. It's a pretty A-list crowd. My favorite song they've done is the Banana song. It's super catchy. Weezer was pretty fun too.

I always find myself singing the Balloons song by The Postmarks "balloons, balloons make me happy...balloons, balloons I love you..."

Thanks for sharing this!!! Sorry I missed this post. I actually bought this costume a few weeks ago. I got around to trying it on Jake last night and OMG...it is HUGE!!!! I'm hoping they will take it back. I found another one on Amazon I might order (a Melissa & Doug playset), but I'm worried it will also be big. If all else fails, I might order him a red firefighter rain jacket that is his size.

My friend gets so excited to tell me about all of the great bands on this show. I just can't get into it! Smile I didn't know you were an Aquabats fan. I wouldn't consider myself a fan as I don't know much of their music, but I do recall seeing one of their shows over 10 years ago at a local music club. I remember them being quite entertaining!
