Hoping work picks up soon :(

I always start the school year with work leftover from the year before. Not this year! We had some major changes with our special education director, so I was asked to complete everything before summer vacation. So, I have reorganized my office twice, highlighted important dates in my calendar, reorganized files on my computer, learned a new test, and shopped for shoes/clothes for the kids online. I am out of ideas. I did get to observe a student today! Woot! At some point, I will be praying for this much time, but right now, I am frustrated.

Melanie, please tell me you knocked on wood after you wrote that right? Hope things pick up for you soon, but don't get too crazy!

I'm all about online games when I've got downtime. Come play games of time with me on facebook!

This is me every day. Its hard to not be super busy all the time. Makes coming to work really hard on those days you just can't get out of bed. I hope it picks up for you ASAP.

That actually sounds kind of fun and relaxing, but I'm sure it will get old very fast! Hope it picks up - but not too much - soon!

I had a job for a while that was very unpredictable. Some days I hardly had time to go to the bathroom and other days I spent hours reading or playing solitaire. We didn't have the internet or I would have spent way too much time browsing online. I did enjoy getting to read at work but it made the day go by so slow.

I would be happy to help. Just send it all over! Lol If only I were licensed in CA. I know it will pick up, but it is really tedious to get up for work knowing there isn't much for you to do. I even offered to help my special ed. director (without really telling her that I was dying of boredom) because she is now over two school corporations (so, about 8-9 schools) and doesn't have an office in our corporation anymore. I figure she can use some help with something, but she declined. I tried! Biggrin

Oh, I wish I could. Facebook is blocked at work. Sad

Is a corporation classified like a school district? Do you have many school psy's in your corporation?

Yes. I am the only school psych in my corporation. There are 4 schools in my corporation. We are part of a special education cooperative and we have 7 school psychs in the cooperative. I only get to see them about twice a month. There are bigger school corporations here that have armies of psychs.

It sounds like your psych/student ratio is pretty high like ours. We have close to 20 schools in my district and there are about 12 of us (although I am PT). We see each other every other month for a group meeting.
