Isaiah's First Communion celebration

Isaiah's First Communion is on Sunday. I have the catering arranged. We order Jimmy John's party platters to make it easy. I will buy chips, but I am trying to decide what else to get. Fruits and veggies obviously...anything else? We are not huge potato salad fans, but maybe I should make some? I am the world's worst party planner!! I hate doing all of this stuff. It stresses me out big time!! DH wants nothing to do with it at all. he just says, "Whatever you want..." when I ask his opinion. I need to get the cake ordered also, but I have no clue if I want a Celtic cross or a chalice with some grapes. Decisions.... Smile

What's all included on the JJ party platters? We don't have that here so I'm not familiar with it. Otherwise it sounds like you're set. Not sure if potato salad would be necessary...depending on what's on the platters. Don't forget something to drink. I think punch/water/iced tea/coffee might be good for a Sunday First Communion celebration.

I'm curious as to what is included on the JJ platters as well. Are they sandwiches? I think the main course, chips, fruit and veggies will be enough. I tend to go overboard when hosting parties. My initial instinct is to add potatoe salad, but if you have all of the other food, most likely, you will have a ton left over! So, I'd go without it. Besides, if anyone is still hungry, they can enjoy the cake Wink GL choosing the cake! I'm sure whichever design you choose will look great.

I think you've got enough, especially with cake. Smile

Sounds good! If you just want to add some different dips to go with the chips but I think you got it made! I have never had JJ but I hear that they are really good. There is one by my office, just never tried it. I love to plan parties!!!

I've never heard of Jimmy John's either! I think the Celtic cross would be pretty! Are you going to share pictures with us afterwards?

On the JJ's platters, you can pick the different subs that you want to have and they cut them into smaller portions. The only issue I have with JJ's catering is that you cannot get tomatoes, etc. separately. It is either on the sandwich or it is not. Subway allows you to make all of your sandwiches plain and they give you the condiments separately. I don't like Subway as well as JJ's though. Smile

I went with a silver cross on the cake. The writing will be in green for Earth Day. I did not want to have to take in a picture of a Celtic cross or a Chalice. I was feeling lazy. Smile

It went great! The cake was not quite what I envisioned, but it was fine. You just eat it anyway. Smile Isaiah was so excited and he had a great time with the family that made it. I will try to post some pictures if I have a chance. My DH is out of town, so I will have the evenings all to myself. Smile
