Jordan has become super sensitive to sounds lately and she thinks everything is scary. Even noises she has been hearing since birth. She will say scary, whine or cry and cover he ears.
We live a few miles from some train tracks and this morning she was stirring a bit (around 5:30am) and then a train started blaring it's horn. It's not loud but you can definitely hear it in our house and she started crying and saying mama. I went in her room and she was laying in her bed, crying and covering her ears. This afternoon our neighbors dog was barking and she spent the next 15 minutes covering her ears. She was not hysterical or anything, but sort of whining and occasionally saying "scary". Then she said "fy-fy" (fireworks) and said "boom boom", "scary". There were fireworks a few weeks ago at the local high school and we could see them from our backyard. I guess the scary dog outside made her think of the fireworks. Oh, and we live near a small airport so occasionally a plane flies over our house and it's sort of loud. She doesn't like that either.
Do you think it's just a phase? It seems like half the time I go into her room to get her out of bed she is covering her ears. Even when there are not any loud sounds outside.
