    Default On the move!

Things have been crazy lately! How about for all of you? What's new in your world?

I thought I'd share that I'm going to be moving soon. I don't have an exact closing/moving date but it will be in December. To be honest, if it's after the 15th, I'd kind of like to wait until the 26th just so we can have a normal Christmas. But it should be mid December. I just don't want to have an entire house to move and a new one to settle down without having a tree up and ready and being able to do normal Christmas things. So, we'll see.

I have quite a bit to still do for the new house and my house is on the market now. Have had two offers already but the first one didn't last long. Have workers coming today to correct one issue and someone else coming tonight to see the house. It's been busy. So hard keeping the house perfect when I have so many other things to do and two kids to destroy the house behind me while I'm getting them done. The agent tries to have it set up so appts are for the next day but sometimes people just want to see it within hours and I have not much time to get out of the house.

Moving about half an hour away from where I am now but still just 15 miles or so from the main city that I live near. There are lots of things that will take time to get used to because the new house is further from normal conveniences and right now I have them all in my backyard pretty much. (1 mile from my grocery store, restaurants, a mall, all other type of conveniences (gas, home depot, etc, etc) Once I move I'll be 8 miles from my new grocery store, 15 miles from a mall, and a little bit further from the hospital I like to be near. Also - bittersweet for me selling my current home. (when I married we purchased the house I grew up in) So it will feel strange and sad to not be able to come here anymore. (So there is also another part of me that wouldn't mind terribly having one more Christmas here.)

I'll probably post a thread or two soon asking design/decor opinions on a few things!

Oh wow Julie! Congrats on a new home! I am excited for you. I do agree that staying for Christmas would be nice. I hope that packing and moving go well, and you get used to be further away from everything pretty quickly.

We are looking to refinance. We have some major renovation to do on our house. We will probably stay for awhile. It is close to Isaiah's school (which will be the girls' school), so we have no reason to move right now. We do need some more space for our family, but it works out okay.

Wow. Congrats on the new house! Sounds like a busy, exciting time for y'all.

Nothing much here. Just trying to hold on to my sanity in the final days/weeks. Had a completely boring 38 week appt yesterday. Aiden's birthday is tomorrow. Celebrating with my SIL's family Saturday. My 6th wedding anniversary is Sunday. Then the 10th is my husband's birthday. Somewhere (hopefully!) before Thanksgiving Zoe will make her grand entrance. lol

I was thinking there'd be pictures with this post.... :/

I didn't know you were living in the home you grew up in! How neat is that?! I can see how it will be bittersweet to move. 8 miles from the grocery store isn't bad at all. That's about how far we are (although a gas station is closer) and it's not bad.

I was thinking there would be pictures too. But this is Julie we're talking about. That' very reassuring you have some offers already. It must be priced and showing well. Hopefully the right offer comes along and works out perfectly with your move-in date.

And, what a bummer moving time is mid-december. But on the plus side, you'll start the new year in your new home.

You didn't?!? At least now you know a little more why I was a little crazy during the decision process. I will have a gas station closer. So that is good!

And pictures? What are those? So far I've taken all the pictures with my cell phone and not my camera. I'll try to get them to the computer soon. Going tomorrow to see more progress.

    Thanks everyone!

Wow! Congratulations on the new home!!! That is exciting! Is the new home being built? I'd love to see pics, too!!

I understand how emotional it must be for you to leave your current home. But think of all the new memories you will make in your new home

Cali - Yes, it is being built. I need to get the gazillion pics I have on to my computer so I can share a few here.

Rec'd the third offer on my current house early in the week. So far all paperwork is going well. Just waiting for their inspection. But have already had 2 and anything that would be mentioned would be cosmetic and shouldn't prevent the house from selling. We'll see. (last inspector mentioned that there wasn't a railing for the two steps up to get into the house - shrug) There was one thing that had to be done and we did the work. (Upstairs bedrooms still had some old wiring - so that electrical was fixed)

    Third time's the charm, right?

Wow, Julie, so you are going to have a super busy holiday season one way or another! I know what you mean about keeping a house perfect for showing. I hated that! We also moved a little further away from everyday conveniences. We are a 15 minute drive from just about anything. I'm used to it for the most part and being out where it is quiet and pretty has made it worth it. I hope the last offer goes through okay!
