Yesterday one of the Engineers who works for DH got a call that his son, who is 6 months old, had sever swelling in his mouth and was being rushed to the hospital. the local hospital he went to had trouble getting an airway and took him to the OR to try to establish one. Thankfully they were able to intubate him and flight for lifed him to the Children's Hospital where he is in ICU.
Yesterday little was known why this happened. Today DH got a text of their precious baby on life suppotrt and said they think it is trama and CPS shut down their daycare.
My heart just aches for these poor parents and their little boy. It was bad enough to think it might be a reaction to something, but to tknowing that this was 100% preventable and caused by the hands of someone they trusted with their child.....
Their baby is stable, on life support. and they are unsure of what other kind of trama he may have until all the swelling goes down. How does that happen.
Thanks for listening. I just needed a shoulder to cry on. My BFF, who I usually lean on for this sort of stuff, has to take her new twins to full time daycare so I don't want to scare her. But I needed an outlet because I am so sad for them and cannot stop crying.
Oh my gosh!!! I just got goose bumps reading this!! So horrible! I am glad to hear though that the baby is stable but so hard to know what his long term prognosis will be! Please keep us posted! And vent anytime. That is what we are here for!
Oh no. I can't imagine what this family is going through. I really hope that everything heals fine and that there is no lasting damage.
If you ever find out more information about the boy, let us know please. I'm keeping them in my prayers.
Thanks. Thank you for the prayers too. They can use a lot of them going forward.
What makes the story a little sadder (for me) is that the Mother is a teacher and is currently off for the summer. They were only taking the kids to Daycare to hold their spots. So the Mother was home when it happened. It shouldn't have happened regardless, but I can't imagain the guilt she is feeling right now for sending them to DC yesterday.
These stories are always sad when I hear about them on the News. But this is someone we know. It's horrible. I get tears every time I think of it.
Oh no! That is sooo sad. I can't imagine. Please KUP Amber.

I'm so sorry, Amber. This is beyond sad. Do they have other children? I'll keep them in my t&p's. Please keep us posted.
Oh wow, Amber. That is just awful. I can't even imagine what this family is going through. Please keep us posted on the little boy's progress.
