    Default Party Favors

We're doing a Princess and knights party for Ava (and possibly Andrew's) birthday. I'm gonna get litlle crowns and wands for the girls. But for the boys, I'm stuck on what to do. I was thinking shields and swords. Would you want your little boy to have a sword as a 3 or 4 year old? I'm not sure I would care for that kind of favor for Andrew, but then again, I'm a bit uptight about that stuff. What do you think? Acceptable or keep searching for something else? I could do sheilds and maybe make little tunics for them? Swords would be a lot easier since I know the dollar store carries them.....

We did a pirate themed bday party for Jake and the swords were a HUGE hit. I found foam swords at Target and they were just perfect.(And nobody got hurt!)

We recently found a "knight in shining armor" costume at a neighbor's garage sale and Jake loves dressing up with his armor, his pirate sword, a shield and he uses his football helmet for his hat....

Great theme! So yes, I think swords are acceptable

Well, I sure hope they are acceptable, because I already bought some inflatable swords for Miles' birthday. They're going w/the kids favor boxes. We're having a Princess & Pirate party (combined party for the kids).

I would have no problem with a toy sword as a party favour. One great idea I heard lately - custom CDs with non-annoying music that was the soundtrack at the party. I think I am using that for DJ in the fall!

Oh good! Thanks for the feedback.

Ash- I like the priate theme too! When searching for my party I saw a lot of stuff with that theme too. Have you looked at Party supplies, crafts, party decorations, toys: Oriental Trading they have a ton of stuff that is super cheap.

I have! I actually already ordered pretty much everything for their party as far as favors and decorations, plates, cups, etc. go. I ordered the treasure map placemats Cali mentioned from Oriental trading, plus some pirate flags, treasure chest favor boxes & some favors from there. I need to make some banners yet...but I don't know that I have any pirate cuts.

And FYI, Oriental Trading Co was great about returns. A lot of their items came in lots of 12 and I ordered a few things extra (as some people didn't RSVP). The items we didn't use were returned without any hassle. It was great.
