Party question

I finally picked a date for Andrew's Birthday party, since I had to cancel his last one due to the pipe bursting. I'm feeling lazy, so i moved the time to 1pm to avoid serving lunch. But then I got to thinking, some people might expect a lunch to be served at a 1pm party. I wanted to just do milk and cookies.

Would you expect a meal at that time?

I'm not sure?!?!?!

The other day I was wondering if we ever saw pictures from Andrew's party. I didn't know you had to cancel it!

Yes, I would likely expect a meal of some sort at 1pm. If you don't want to do a meal, I think you should move it to 2 pm or put the menu in the invitation.
Can't wait to see pictures.

I wouldn't at one (we almost always eat before noon), but 2pm would be better timing just in case.

This might not make sense: I wouldn't expect one but I might be surprised if there wasn't one. Maybe some appetizers? Or make a big crock of chili and grab some rolls? Something quick, simple and small?

When is his party?

Poop. that's what I thought as well. Am I the only one who can make a meal of cookies and cake?

I don't want to move the party back any later, since the kids will need to nap at some point that afternoon. So, it looks like more kitchen time for me. Ohs wells. I like food too. Wink

I would love milk and cookies for lunch! YUM! But, yeah, I would probably expect some food. Can you go easy and just order pizza? Or get some Costco wraps/ mini sandwiches? Or if you don't want to push the party back can you bump it up? We went to a bday party yesterday that was from 10-12... they served fruit, muffins, bagels and cupcakes. We went home for lunch. It seemed pretty easy in terms of setup and clean up. GL!

I could move it up, but 10 is a bit early for me. I'm up way before that, but I'm not a morning person so I would be struggling to have everything ready. I'll just do something light and easy.

Julie- The party is going to be on Feb. 19th (which was my actual DD! I didn't plan for that, it was just the best day that worked) It's too bad it's on a Sunday, otherwise I could grab Chick-fil-a.

Pizza might be the winner. That sounds nice and easy, and I haven't served that before.

we did homemade pizzas for miles' first bday. it was nice because we prepped them before the party...however, depending on how many you need to make, it sucks to make them because you can only fit so many in the oven, and eachone takes awhile ---- AND heating up the house when you already have a house full. if you're able to, i'd order them for delivery or p/u! (sorry, nak)

Yum, pizza would be a delicious choice. Like you said, too bad it's a Sunday because I would be thrilled if I showed up to a party and CFA was being served. Biggrin However, you can't go wrong with pizza!

Feb 19th. Funny how it worked out that was your dd. I think pizza will be perfect.

If it makes you feel any better Matthew's first birthday party is this weekend and I still don't know what I'm serving. Decorations: check, cake: check, favors: check, goody bags: check, meal planned - ACK! I know I'll have salad and fruit salad but have yet to decide what the main meal will be. Indecisive and tired. I feel like I'm always serving the same thing but if I think about it that's not true at all. Shrug.

Wow! I can't wait to hear about M2's party!

Amber, I think pizza will be perfect! I thought of your party today when I saw this in a magazine: http://familyfun.go.com/recipes/serve-a-melted-frosty-1033695/
