    Default Pregnancy Question...

You are 39 weeks pregnant with your first child. The pregnancy is uneventful. Your OB says they want to induce you today (39 weeks on the nose) for no other reason, than they legally can and he will be on vacation next week.

    Would you do it?

No. Neither of my babies were delivered by my OB and I wouldn't do anything pregnancy related for someone elses convenience. Spoken by someone who suffered 3 days of labour followed by a c-section for failure to progress, ie. a failed induction.

No, I wouldn't. I don't like the thought/ concept of being induced without a reason! (Or a good reason)

No way! Not unless there was a reason...more than the doc was going to be on vacation.

So, who's doing this today? LOL

    h*** no!

The OB is there to catch the baby. I'd rather deliver with a strange OB than conform to that demand. The nurses are what is important.

No. And a BIG fat no at that! Chances are way too high that the induction will not work and the mom would end up with a c/s.

Nope, for all the reasons stated above.

My BIL's wife is doing this as we speak.

I don't really have a lot of respect for a lot of what she does, but this takes the cake! Odds are the baby will be fine, but I cannot believe how selfish she is to do this. I hope this isn't a glimps of what kind of parents they will be, but I have the feeling it is. sigh.

These! I wouldn't do it because WHO catches the baby isn't as important to me as the baby coming when he/she is ready.

Also - your SIL is probably just tired of being pg and glad for the end.

That being said - I do welcome my 39 week repeat section in 3 months

Gah. I know it's miserable being that pregnant, but there's no way I'd do it. She's pretty much signing herself up for a c section.
