RQ - Weekend Edition

If pregnancy.org was to hold a weekend hotel conference/community get together would you attend?

Would you attend solely to meet those you've become friends with or would you also be interested in attending conferences from the experts they use for various topics? If you wouldn't attend is there are a particular reason?

I guess it depends. It depends on location, cost, and who is going. I would definitely not go to attend workshops. I do that for my job often enough. I may go to meet all of you in person. I have done that with another board where I post. I have been able to attend two reunions to meet those moms. Honestly though, I would not spend a lot of money to travel for pg.org or any board that I frequent. I would rather spend my money on a Disney vacation! Lol

If I could, I would. I'd mostly go to meet people, but I would attend certain topics if I was interested in them. Maybe I'd learn something new!

I would go! I would want to meet all of those that I chat with! Of course if there was an interesting workshop I would attend that too.

Probably not. I'm still not 100% convinced you guys aren't really 50 yr old men. Kidding.....kinda. Wink It would really be about convinence to attend a pg.org function, based off the location and times it was held. If I went I would be willing to listen to speakers and attend workshops- I'm always up for learning stuff.

Jenn and I were talking about doing a Disney meet up. I would be willing to do that. That way if everyone was a weirdo- we can part ways and still make good of the trip.

I would go but I would not attend a workshop or conference. Before I booked my tickets though I would make sure some of the girls I talk to from here are going. I mean, why go if you are just walking around watching other groups meet up and you have to meet new people IRL - no thanks! LOL

Boy, some 50 yo men don't have much to do if they are hanging around here talking with moms to babies and toddlers! Lol You just never know though. We get weirdos around here on ocassion.

Did someone say Disney? I'm in!

It sounds like a blast to meet all of you in person. In reality, I probably wouldn't be able to swing it. I would feel horribly guilty spending the money on a flight (assuming it took place far enough away that I would have to fly). Jason and I have never been the type to do separate vacations. If we are going to spend money going somewhere then it's usually going to be a family trip. Now if the meet was in a place that we could make it into a family vacation (like Amber said) then that would be awesome! And if you all turn out to be as fun as I think you are then I could ditch Jason for a bit. Wink

What Kayla said, we've always done family vacations, I never really liked it the few times I've flown to Vancouver to visit my family mid-week and DH was too busy at work to go.

I would totally do a vacation without my husband. Then again I've done trips without him already and will in the future. No sense waiting around for him and the air force. But I know that we're in a unique situation compared to most of you.
There are other online non-pg.org boards/forums I've explored where I'm convinced that there are bad seeds and posers. These people must have such a sad life to need to make up a story for an online board. Sad
