RQOD - Monday

Hi ladies Smile

Do you make any preserves? Pickles, jam, etc? Do you freeze fresh produce during the summer for winter months?

Do you make any preserves? Yes
Pickles, jam, etc? jam, dill pickles, pickled beets, I'm going to try pickled beans this year [/color/
Do you freeze fresh produce during the summer for winter months? [color=red] yes, from my garden and famer's markets, its nice to have organic veggies in the freezer for the price of regular ones in the winter months. I spend a lot of evenings processing and freezing, but its made up for in the busier winter months when dinner is in the freezer

I ask because I'm making my list and I wondered what is on yours. Any favorite recipes to share? I have a great strawberry fig jam if anyone is interested.

Nope. Can't grow a darn thing here. And no sense in saving stuff with all the moving we do.

I do not. But when I was little, I spend a summer at a friend's grandparents out of state. They made pickled green beans and they were amazing! I think we ate their entire cellar full of them. I've always wanted to try to make them myself, but I've still yet to do it.

I don't care much for jellies and preservatives but pickles I LOVE! Some day. Smile

I don't. I'd like to. I should try soon. My grandmother always has jams, preserves, pickles. Yum! I don't freeze fresh produce in the summer for the winter. To be honest, I never thought about that!
