    Question RQOTD - Friday

Do you live near where you grew up? Do your parent(s) still live in your hometown?

What is a staple in your hometown community? Is there somewhere you always have to go when you are home visiting? A restaurant perhaps? Or a food that is from your neck of the woods?

If you still live in or near your hometown what do others that have moved away always seem to have to do while they are home visiting?

Yep! I live about a 1/4 mile from my parents. They live in the same house that I grew up in...we moved into the house when I was 9 months old.

Burgerville! It is only in the Pacific NW. Friends that come to visit always want to go there! So yummy!

I obviously don't live near my hometown. I actually don't ever want to live here again. My parents live just a couple of miles from my 1st childhood house, though they've lived in their current house for all of my sister's life (she's about to be 18 ). Whenever I'm home I HAVE to have some good Memphis BBQ. I've already hit up Corky's since I've been here. My dad is making wet ribs and more pulled pork BBQ for sandwiches this weekend. Can't wait! I also always go by my favorite Japanese restaurant when here. I haven't been yet this trip, but will once my sister is back in town. I've done several Memphis favorites this trip (Pink Palace museum, Zoo, etc). I do love visiting this area; just don't want to live here!

I don't live in my home town. My parents live in the same house they've been in since I was 10. We moved for my Dad's job when I was 9 from a major metropolitan area to a small town. When I go home I always go to the harbour, walk on the beach and if I'm with a friend or my sister, we go to the Cat and the Fiddle (pub) for a beer.

We grew up in a mountain town and now live about 30 minutes away from it. The only thing we really had up there was a Safeway, but now the area has grown so much everything is different and developed.

DH's parents are still in his childhood home, but talk about selling and moving to something smaller. My parents have both moved down to town. Some day I'd like to get back up to the mountains. It was a great place to grow up.

We live about 7-8 miles from where I grew up. My parents still live in the same house. We go there frequently since it's so close, so there's nothing that I *have* to have when I'm there. Plus, there's not a whole lot there, so...lol

I live 1100 kms and another province away. I was born and raised in Vancouver BC but due to work have lived in Calgary for the past 14 years. My parents and siblings all still live in Vancouver.

Whenever I return to Vancouver, it's always all about the food, esp Chinese food. It's so much better and more variety in Vancouver.
