How long have you lived in your current home? Do you think it is your forever home?
We moved in the beginning of March. It is definitely not our forever home. We should find out in early Sept if we get to stay past December or not.
We've lived here 9 years, I think.
I really hope it's not our forever home. Although, I love our house and our area, the neighbors are another issue. We had one set of super trash neighbors directly next to us. They finally moved out and last year we got another set on the other side of us. These newer neighbors are trouble. The police are consitantly here. Last night something major went down and our entire street was full of cops, ambulances and rescue cars. This is the 3rd time this has happened in the last few months. I hope after last night the courts step in and do not let them all live together anymore. (there are like 7 adults in that house, ages 18-78 ). Thankfully my other neighbors are great, and we all look out for each other, but it's unnerving with being home alone and having such young children next to them.
I think forecloser is not far off for them. There are only so many times that you can get arrested and still keep your job.
Amber, yikes! I hope they are gone soon!
We have been in our home for 6 years. I doubt its our forever home, we shall see. A lot depends on the kids and what they need in school. We love our neighbourhood, and its definitely going up, but the schools nearby aren't great - so we shall see. I plan to move, if necessary, within the next 3 years. I expect them to close the nearest school next fall, so I have to wait and see what I think of the school we've got Alicia into for out-of-catchment and go from there.
Wow, Amber! That is crazy. I'd be annoyed and I can imagine how you'd be feeling being home with the kids. We live in a nice neighborhood but we had one crazy incident 4 years ago (http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20420401,00.html)
We've been in our home for 7 years now. It could be our forever home, but I don't think it will be. I don't want to move once the kids are in school unless they don't have to change schools. We were actually considering making a move just so J could go to the elementary school closer to our house. We also talked about moving on a street that is a little less busy than ours (maybe a cul de sac?) I think we will end up waiting now and save up....my dream is to buy a house with an ocean view
Well, I'd like to think y'alls junky neighbors and crazy neighbors for reminding me of one great benefit to living on base - rules and regulations sometimes work in our favor!!! Though I totally watched a guy from housing this morning put a ruler up to our yard to make sure it wasn't too tall.
