    Question RQOTD - Thursday

If you were preparing for a big storm that might possibly keep you home for a few days what are some of your favorite non-perishable foods you would stock up on?

Canned fruit. Water bottles. Crystal light for when I tire of the water taste. Canned beans for protein (kinda gross to me though lol). I don't know. If we live someplace where we had to prepare like that I'd probably panic for about 3 minutes when I first realized I should prepare. lol.

Since most of our storms that leave us home bound are snowstorms. I would want lots of warm comfort foods; stuff to make home-made chicken noodle soup, brownies..casserole stuff.

For non-perishable stuff, maybe mac and cheese, soups, cereal.... I'm not really sure. For just a few days, we'd probably just pick through the stuff we had, and use our campng equipment to cook if our utilities went out.

We had a horrible ice storm a few years back...left everyone stuck in their houses without electricity, but there we were out in the yard at the BBQ!! Can't let the meat go bad in the freezer right?

As far as not parishable...soup! Bean with Bacon is a favorite at our house.

Water for sure, crystal light. Alcohol, lol. Mac and cheese. Bread. Munchies. Canned pasta for the kids. Personally, at this time of year I'd load the cooler up with cheese, crackers, fruit etc. We'd happily live off that.

That's my favorite too! Dh thinks it's totally gross, but I love it! I need to find a homemade verison of it.

During our 12 days of no power during Hurricane Ike I lived off of Frito Pie. I also made stuff on the BBQ pit a lot. Justin ate Spaghetti O's.

Totally gonna keep this one in mind if we ever have an ice storm!

If we ever have a storm, we are completely screwed. B/c of my low salt diet, we try to stay away from processed foods...so all those boxes and canned goods and stuff...yeah, we don't have them. It's so bad we actually have to BUY non-perishables when there's a food bank drive...b/c we never hardly have any anymore.

Probably eat a bunch of salads...ice cream....defrosted bagels....

    Yeah, we'd be screwed.
