Do you have a library card to your local library? When is the last time you went? How often do you go? Do you take your LO('s)? Do they have events for them? What?
Yes, Miles and I both do. The last time we went was the end of October. Haven't ventured there since Vivi has been born yet. They do have storytime but we've only made it to 1. They have other events, like a traveling zoo that comes, summer reading programs, etc.
We go several times a month. Generally I request my books online and go pick them up when they're ready. That way if the kids are not having it, I can just run in and grab the books on hold and be out in a minute. If the kids are being good, we head to the Children section.
I let the kids pick out 2 books every time we're there. Ava always gets Curious George and Clifford. Andrew, I limit to board books so he can't ruin them (although he CAN lose them!) My library just started doing story hour but it's not held at a good time for us, so we don't go. They have a few toys and rocking animal things that the kids love. We generally don't stay too long though. they get loud and I don't want to disturb others.
ETA: I only read library books. I rarely read a book more than once, so I stick to checking them out to save money. I don't mind having to wait a while for popular books.

Nope, don't have a library card for this location. I actually meant to try the story time they have at the library on base after New Year's but me being sick for almost 2 weeks has pretty much kept us housebound. Hopefully next week! Aiden probably has 100 books, so it's not like we're lacking in reading material.
Yep! We have a library card. We usually go about once a week and get new books. Although DH went by himself last week and I am so glad Alison and I stayed home because some kid threw up all over a stack of books and then her mom puked because the kid puked. ACK!!
Oh and I forgot to add that we occasionally go to story time. The last couple of times the other kids were just too rowdy and they were freaking Alison out.
OMG, Kristi! That is hilarious! Poor librarians!
P.S. I know I should not find that funny, but I totally do! And on the books no less. ew!
We are big library users. Isaiah has a card and I have a card. I was there yesterday to pick up books and I returned some this morning on my way to work. I probably go to the library a few times a week. I take Isaiah about twice a month. We avoid any library adventures with the twins! The library does have programs for the kids, but none of them fit our schedule. All story times for the little ones are during the day when I work. They have a lego program for boys, but it is when I teach Zumba on Wednesdays. They have a family movie Friday every week, but it starts at 4 p.m. I don't really get that because we would take Isaiah at least once a month if it started at 6 p.m. We also participate in the summer reading program with all of the kids.
Weak stomach? My Dad was like that when we were little. Actually all of us were. If one of my 3 sisters puked within eye line, it was pretty certain all of us were going to. My poor Mother! lol!
I'm much better about puke now. But every now and then, when we get the hyperemesis patients at work it gets me going. Some of those chicks are really mucousy pukers. I have to look away and really focus on not watching them. When I empty their emesis basins I get gaggy. I'm glad the bathrooms are not in the patients line ov vision. Kinda discouraging to see your nurse gagging over your puke.
I had no idea that I would be reading so much about puke when I opened this thread. Thank goodness the nausea is much better these days or might have just ducked out!
I have a library card and I go through phases of using it. There were quite a few weeks in the summer where Jordan and I were going twice a week. It was so hot outside but we needed to get out of the house and that was the perfect escape. I feel bad that I haven't taken her in so long. She seemed to enjoy story time but it's been months since we went. For a while we were housebound because of my horrible nausea. I would have been the one puking at the library! Lately I've just been sticking around the house more because I find that getting out with her exhausts me. I swear, she feels like she weighs so much more now that I'm pregnant.
