    Question RQOTD - Thursday

Some of the responses to the question from yesterday led me to today's question.

Are you on public water or well?
    Public sewer or septic?

Have you ever been on the opposite of what you are now? Preferences?

I am on public water and a sewer. I have been on septic and definitely prefer sewer, although it is pretty common here not to be allowed to use a garbage disposal if you are on a sewer.

We are on city water and public sewer. I like it just fine. Colorado had great water, so city water here taste better than anywhere else and I can drink water from the tap without filtering it first. And when we had a pipe burst and I was far from home, it was so nice to call the city and have them come out fast and get the water turned off.

We grew up in the mountains and had a well and and a septic. But honestly, I don't remember anything details about it.

Public water and well - surprisingly it's all we've ever been on!

A little over a month ago it was public water and sewer. Now it's a well and septic. I would have to say paying for a new pump for the well that first week made me appreciate having public water. That was an expensive pump. :/ Septic is a little more trouble so I guess I prefer sewer. Although, I see them as a trade off. We have more room and much more peace and quiet.

How come you prefer sewer, Nicole? Did you have trouble with the septic?

Oh no! Why did you already have to get a new pump for your well?

Craptastic luck? The pump just went out on us! It was our 7th day in our new house, I was taking a shower and the water pressure completely disappeared until nothing was coming out. We called a guy out, he pulled 300 feet of pipe and replaced a 3 year old pump. They should last 7-10 year easily which is why my DH didn't pay the extra money to get it covered on our home warranty. Whoops. What would have cost $80 instead cost us $1200.
