RQOTD - Tuesday

What is one thing you would say that you waste (or have wasted) the most money on?

If it's something current - are you going to change that?

If it's something in your past - what made you realize you were wasting money on that particular thing?

Parking and coffee. I pay $100 a month to park at work and at least one cup of coffee a day. I am going to change it....I am cancelling my parking pass at work and am going to start parking at a distance and walking in...the good thing about this is if I change my mind...there is a major waiting list to park by my building so I'll still have to park at a distance and walk in, if I want to park on campus...enforced walking is good for me! Anyhow, that and I'm considering buying a coffee pot for my office...but I'm afraid I might drink too much if its that easy...maybe a thermos woud work better for me.

Far and away, we over spend on food. Specifically on dining out. I also think junk food is a huge waste of money that we spend more than we should on. I need to meal plan better so we an cut down.

Dining out for sure. Also - getting toys for Deacon that we think he will LOVE because he is in a phase and then he never plays with them.

We have agreed to stop buying him toys unless its Christmas or his birthday to save money and make him appreciate things more.

As far as dining out....we set a limit we can spend on dining out every week and we stick to it - and trust me, ITS TINY!

Eating out. We spend way too much money on that. Also, parking. I pay close to $100 a month on parking at work.

I am married to a tight wad so I would say we have superfluous spending under control for the most part. Wink I'm only partly kidding. We do splurge on Starbucks about once a week and I know we are getting ripped off, but we love their drinks. I recently started clipping coupons and watching ads more closely, so I hope I am starting to save us some money there. I'm sure we could still save on food since I rarely have lunches or dinners planned for the weekend.

I will also make impulse buys for Jordan. It's usually not more than $5 or so but I know that can add up over time. It's usually a book so that makes it ok, right?

It's hard for me to go shopping and stick to only the items on my list. I definitely over spend any time I go to Target, Costco or the grocery store.

Costco is my downfall. I can't come out of there for under $100. And lately I've been buying a lot of baby stuff.

I'm fairly certain no one can come out of there for less than 100. They have everything you never knew you needed!
