What is the closest store to your house? If it isn't the grocery store, how far away is your grocery store?
The closest store is the convenience store dh's family owns. It's 3 miles (or slightly less) away. The nearest grocery store is about 8 miles away. However, I don't typically get a lot of groceries there because the prices are insane!
There are a few gas stations that are probably 1.5 miles away. The grocery store is a 4 mile round trip. We walk or run it every now and then. In the same complex is a yummy pizza place and a Dairy Queen. Evey now and then we walk to dinner there too.
There is a Safeway about 1 mile away and a mini-mart across the street from that.
Try the Nutter Butter Blizzard - YUM!
We have a few gas stations and a McDonalds, Taco Bell, Jack in the Box and Burger King all within 1/2 a mile and the nearest store is Kroger which is a mile away. In that shopping center are several other places as well.
I have to say I was disappointed with the Nutter Butter Blizzard... maybe it's because I'm used to the chocolate in my cookie dough blizzard I did try the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard the other day (well, I finished Jake's as he heard the name and insisted on ordering a Pumpkin Pie LIZARD)...it' wasn't too bad.
We have a grocery store, gas station, and small shops 1 mile from our house. Everything else shopping-wise is about 2-3 miles away.
There is a gas station down the road, but I rarely get gas or shop there. The closest grocery store is Super Walmart, which is a couple of miles away.
We have a plant store down the road. The grocery store is about 3 miles away. It's in a pretty busy area with a grocery store, Ross, TJMaxx, Hometown Depot, Lowes, and a few fast food places.
We have a huge shopping complex less than a mile away. It has a Super Target and pretty much every big box store you can think of along with a ton of local restaurants and chains. There are probably over 100 businesses in the complex. There's even a playground and a stage where they have live music once a week in the evenings.
that's awesome, Joy! If I can't be in the mountains, I'd love to be in a area that is foot friendly.
Although, I don't know if living walking distance to a Target would help me spend less- since I could only buy what I could carry. Or, if I would spend more since I could walk there if Iwas bored.
The BX (base exchange) is 3/4 of a mile away. It has 10 aisles and is mostly useless for us. It's not nearly as nice as pretty much every other single base out there.
The next closest is the commissary (grocery store). It's a mile away. Still not nearly as nice as most commissaries, but it's not nearly as bad at the BX is.
