How are you celebrating Valentine's Day today?
It's just me and the kiddos today. I gave them a little box of chocolates, a little coloring book and Ava got a princess puzzle (she is obessed with princesses lately) and Andrew got a monster truck MatchBox car.
We have dance class here in a few minutes. Tonight I think I'll order chineses for dinner and go to bed early. I stayed up all night reading a book, and got 2 hours of sleep. Which I am not realizing was a dumb idea.
Amber - What book? Must be a good one! I've just started The Night Circus. Im about 45 pages in and it's finally starting to captivate me a little more. I think I am going to enjoy it.
Today will be pretty ordinary. I am going to let Jordan make a valentine for Jason. She really enjoyed making some the other day for her grandparents. She had never experienced glue before. Other than that, I don't know that today will be any different.
The boys woke up to some fun Valentine's toys & treats. We had oatmeal with Valentine's sprinkles and now I'm trying to plan a fun heart themed lunch. After nap, we're heading to a V-day party for Jake, which will be fun. I made super cute Valentine's for his friends and made some pink chocolate dipped Oreos as well (both of these compliments to Pinterest!).... I plan on ordering take out and bringing it home for dinner. This is the first year I really didn't do anything for DH.... I have a card, some candy, and I think the dinner will be his present...lol.
Kayla- It's called Divergent by Veronica Roth. It's kinda Hunger Gameish. I got it for DH to read, but decided to see what it was about and ended up finishing the whole thing. I got it from the library and it has a TEEN sticker on the side, so it read fast. I think it's part of s series. I'm going to have to track down the others now too. I added the Night Circus to my hold list. I can't wait to get it!
I took some pictures of the valentines the kiddos are giving away to friends at Ava's dance class. Ava had a lot of fun making them. She got to cut and use the edge punch too. She really enjoyed it.
and Andrew's Valentine for a little brother of one of the girls in class that he plays with.
My kids woke up to gifts. Isaiah got a pack of UNO cards because we lost our other pack. He also got the book, "Super Diaper Baby." The girls each received a book andtwo packs of those special crayons at Target -- the .99 ones that have all sorts of names like Born to Rock and such. They also got a scribble pad. They all got some Hershey's Minatures. Yum! Isaiah also got Reese's PB Cups and some chocolate covered Strawberry Peeps.
I made strawberry frosted brownies on Sunday night and we have been enjoying those. They were for today, but I knew I would not have time to make them last night. So, it was an early treat.
Other than that, we have no special plans. I am going to Zumba tonight because I need to start adding more workouts to my schedule. That is my treat to myself, I guess.
I still need to get The Hunger Games trilogy. It is on my list. I am reading a children's book right now to see if it will be good for Isaiah. It is called Secrets at Sea by Richard Peck. I think that is the author anyway. Hmmm...
We are going bowling with the in-laws! I have not been bowling in years! Should be fun.
Mostly it's just an ordinary day. DS got a card and stuffed Big Bird in the mail from my parents. He got a book about colors and a heart shaped straw cup from DH and I.
I am making a nice dinner for the 3 of us. Having homemade pasta with alfredo sauce with shrimp, broccoli, and red bell pepper. For dessert we're having chocolate lava muffins. Pretty sure DS will only eat the chocolate though. lol
Amber - cute Valentine's.
There are some tasty treats on this thread.
The boys got some Valentine's on Sunday at my Dad's house and then my aunt brought them donuts and a book yesterday. Instead of buying them candy I had heart shaped chocolate chip cookie with some red frosting and they each rec'd a little gift.
