    Question RQOTD - Wednesday

What does the bedtime routine look like in your house? What time does it start? When are your kiddos usually asleep? When are you usually asleep?

Normally at 7-7:15pm we start Aiden's bedtime routine. He gets a bath, brushes his whole 4 teeth, gets a night diaper put on, and gets lotion from head to toe. I then rock him and BF him one more time. Then DH comes in and reads and rocks till Aiden is is either asleep or drowsy and showing cues that he'll actually fall asleep when put in his crib. Usually he's asleep by 8pm.
When I go to bed varies greatly. Some nights it's 9pm, others it's after midnight. A lot depends on when DH goes to bed and how much sleep I got the previous night.

Usually around 7 we start with a bath. After drying off she gets lotion and dressed in jammies. She will have a bottle (yes, I need to get rid of that darn thing) with some prune juice in it (if you want to be happy, you got to be regular, HA!)...while she is drinking the bottle we will read one of her library books and then we brush teeth and off to bed. Normally she is asleep by 8. She usually has to roll around and play a little in bed before she actually falls asleep.

We start at 6:30 or 7, depending on how the kids napped that day or how cranky they are. We change into jammies and a night time diaper, brush teeth, wash hands and faces, read stories. Ava still likes her mobile turned on then light out (for Andrew at least, Ava has decided to sleep with the lights these days) they are in bed by 8 at the latest. On bath nights, which happens 2-3 times a week, we start bed time right after dinner, since they like to play in the tub for a while.

I also go to bed anywhere between 9-1am. I would really like to be in bed at 9:45 and read until 10:30. But that rarely happens that I get to bed at a reasonable time.

    No judging our bedtimes! LOL

Usually around 9 or 9:30 I start the whole "5 more minutes Deacon". That goes on for about 20 minutes...lol. Then we make him pick his "favorite" toy - which changes every 5 seconds - and take it to bed with him. We have him stop by the bathroom to go potty and then off to bed. He will usually climb right in and lay there quietly until he goes to sleep. Some nights he fights us but it doesn't last more than 5-10 minutes.

Tonight he is going to bed way earlier though...maybe 8:30 or 9. Its hard to get him to sleep when the sun is still up so I am looking forward to the time change.

With Justin getting home at 7:30 we keep Deacon up late so they have time together. They are both sad when Deacon goes to bed before Jus gets home.

Jen, I hear you...I get home between 6:30-7.

We start bedtime routines at 7:15. They get jammies, potty. They usually are watching a TV show, that's their reward for pooping on the potty. After TV they wash their faces, we go up and have at least 2 stories, maybe 3. Then I sing a song while I tuck them in and they play hide under the covers. Lights off is generally by 8. I also do baths immediately after dinner when necessary...but DH will bathe them during the day on days that I am goin to be home late. They only get 2-3 baths a week due to DJ's eczema. The doc told us only when absolutely necessary.

For me, I like to be in bed by 10...and am usually asleep by 10:30. Last night was 8 pm...some times it goes as late as 1.

The girls go to bed btw 7:15 and 8 depending on their mood and how tired they are from their day. Isaiah goes to bed btw 8:30 and 9.

We do not bathe every day. All of my kids have sensitive skin. If it is a bath night, then the girls take a bath between 6:30 and 7, get on their jammies, and we read books. Otherwise, it is jammies and books. They brush their teeth in there somewhere when I remember.

Isaiah's bedtime routine is similar, except he showers and gets his own jammies on at night. We read and then we tuck him in to bed.

We start at 7pm with a bedtime snack and milk. After snack we go in and go potty, brush teeth, and wash hands. Then we head into his room and get on a nighttime diaper and jammies. Miles goes downstairs to tell daddy goodnight. Then we sit on his bed and read a few books. I turn out the lights, and lay down with him until he falls asleep and then I sneak out. He's usually out within 5 minutes. I'm usually walking out of his room about 735. I head to bed around 10ish.

Between 6:30-7:00, we head upstairs for bath or shower. We then read 1 story, brush teeth, Trevor is nursed/rocked to sleep at 7:30. Jake gets 3 more stories and then potty. He gets one more story (5 is his new favorite number, so we've incorporated it into our routine). Jake has lights out around 8 - 8:30... depending on his mood. If daddy is home, daddy will sometimes lay with him until he falls asleep.

Lately, Trevor has been waking 1-3 times at night...I'm in the process of trying to figure out how to reduce this. I'm so tired!!

I like to try to go to bed by 10, but realistically it is anywhere between 11-12. There is always too much to do after the kids are in bed!

Don't worry Jenn. We have a late bedtime here too! Jason doesn't get home until around 6:30 most nights so we don't eat dinner until 6:30 to 7:15 depending on how clingy Jordan is while I'm trying to cook. It seems like it takes Jordan forever to eat dinner too.

We get Jordan in the bath between 8:05 to 8:20 most nights. Then we do a diaper, jammies and tell Daddy night night. (That means Jordan and I go to her room and she runs back out to Jason to hug him. It's her little game that she plays every night.) Then I nurse/rock her to sleep and I'm usually out of her room around 9:00-9:15.

I stay up too late most nights. Usually between 11:30-1:00.
