What kind of sunscreen do you use on your LO('s)? For yourself?
Right now I use Badger on the kids, and whatever we have laying around for myself. Generally mine is in a spray form. I'll coat my kids head to toe with great care, but for myself I need something simple, or I won't do it. I do use sunscreen on my face daily though. Wrinkles scare me!
Right now we have some Coppertone Water Babies. It seems to work fairly well. She hasn't had any reactions to it. I however, have to be very careful with sunscreen because I allergic to most of them. My hands and arms will break out if I put sunscreen on her so DH always has to do it...or we have to use the spray kind.
Aiden is using California Baby. Mostly just his face and arms since the rest of him remains covered if we're outside long enough to need sunscreen (our backyard play area is completely shaded in the afternoons).
I've been using Target brand and DS's CA Baby.
I wouldn't mind trying something else (though we haven't had issues with CA Baby), but I kinda bought too much last fall so we're gonna use it up while it's good! lol
Jackie- try the Badger ones. We use CA Baby, but their sunscreens are higher than what I would have expected on the toxic level rating. So now I switched to Badger. It's about the same cost and has the bug repellant in there too.
Good timing with the question! I bet some of you saw my post on FB yesterday but here it is again, just in case anyone wanted to check it out.
I am about to order Thinkbaby for Jordan. I will probably end up using it too. I really don't use sunscreen that often since I usually just avoid the sun altogether. It's not that often that I use more than what is just in my makeup. I've used a variety of brands in the past when we've been on vacation or had a day out in the sun.
CA Baby is on the list of low risk sunscreens (rating of a 1). Now the Target brand that DH insisted we buy got a 7. I think I'll use the CA Baby on myself since we do have 3 tubes of the stuff still! lol
I started out using CA Baby on the girls last year. It took forever to get them lathered up and we ran out of a tube within 2 weeks with consistent application. We go to the pool almost everyday. I had to move all of us to a spray sunscreen because it was cheaper and faster to apply. I need an extra sensitive face sunscreen because I have rosacea and really sensitive eyes. I have a lot of trouble finding a good sunscreen for my face. I try something new every year.
