Do you have a garbage disposal? Do you use it often or hardly at all?

No, they are not allowed within city limits.

I

Intersting, Nicole! I assumed everyone had one.

I have one and use it multiple times a day.

That is interesting, Nicole. Why not? What do you do when your drain clogs? Reach in with your hands to clear it? Does your city offer a city compost instead?

I use mine quite a bit.

Yes!! Thank goodness. We used to live in a house that was on a septic and a garbage disposal is a no-no with those. But now that we are on city water, we have one and I must say, I really do love it.

No, we don't have a garbage disposal. Not sure if it has anything to do w/having our own septic?

I don' know why we are not allowed a disposal. We do have compost here, we put our green waste in a large (stinky) bin and they pick it up once a week. I suspect the infrastructure here is pretty old and cannot handle the additional waste that disposals would generate - and besides, where would I get my free compost every spring if the city didn't make it, lol. I don't like the bins, but I do like the free compost. One of my students actually started a summer business cleaning green bins...good for him - I won't go near it!
