RQOTD - Wednesday

What does a night of sleep look like for you? Are you getting a good sleep these days? Up a lot with kids?

Sleep most nights is going well. Other than our recent travels Aiden sleeps through the night maybe all but one night out of 2 weeks (pretty fantastic!). Takes a bit to get him to settle down (he usually gets out of bed and "reads" books for awhile lol), but at least he usually sleeps great once asleep. I've had some issues staying asleep just due to pregnancy, but hypnobabies (doing their self study) is having me fall asleep a lot faster than normal at least. lol

I go to bed at 10:30 (or try to anyway) and I get up at 5:30. As of right now, all of my kids sleep through the night. The girls are still in cribs, so no one is out wandering (or attempting it) yet. I have felt much more rested as I have started back to work than I did the first two years with the twins. That is a step in the right direction. I am sure I will get more tired as the long days drag on and on... Biggrin

Believe it or not, I have a 2 month old and most days I feel well rested. I didn't feel this good until Jordan was about 15 months? I am a night owl so I am up until around 12 to 12:30. Nora is usually asleep by around 10 but she usually gets held until I am ready to go to bed and then I nurse her just before I go to sleep. She wakes up anywhere between 4 and 5 most nights so I'm up for about an hour by the time I nurse her, get her changed and back in bed. Then she wakes up around 7:30 to 8:30. Jordan goes to bed late enough that Nora usually wakes me up first.

It seems one of the kids is always keeping me up. Right now it's Ava. She likes to sleep with her light on. I let her, because I am tired and want sleep too. G thought it would be a good idea to install light switches on a timer. Now everytime the light goes off, Ava gets up. I had to have a sit down with her and explain this is not acceptable. I replaced her old night light with a princess night light and the last few nights that seems to have helped.

Really, if I went to bed at a more reasonable time, it wouldn't even bother me. But I've been reading a lot lately and staying up way later than I should.

Andrew is actually sleeping well right now (knock on wood). First time in his life he goes to bed well and stays asleep until morning. :woohoo:

Both kids usually sleep through the night. Sometimes one will call out around 4 (our paper is delivered then and he is LOUD) and will want a sip of water or to be tucked back in. I sleep really well, unless we have a new foster child. They are downstairs (with a monitor) -so I spend a lot of time the first few nights listening for movement, crying etc.
