RQOTD - Weekend Edition

Do you ever go camping with your family? If so, do you tent or have a camper? How often do you go? Wish you went more? In not, do you wish you went camping or are you happier with a hotel?

I'm dragging us and my sister out tent camping this weekend. I love it and wish we went more. This is the first time since we lived in Vegas, so I'm excited! Though I'm not a wilderness camper. I like my campgrounds where I'm a half mile or so to a bathroom and shower. Wink

I do go camping with my family. We did our first trial run weekend camp last fall and we are heading out for a week this summer. I will also do a couple of smaller camps with the kids at a local campground this summer...before we head out for a week, to iron out the kinks. DH and I used to do a TON of camping, back country and wilderness mostly. When I was a kid, my parents rarely took us camping, Mom doesn't enjoy bugs Smile but I was a girl guide (scout) and we went camping at least 3 times a summer - and I usually went for a week or two to a guide camp. LOVE camping!

I love, love, love tent camping. But it seems anymore we go with DH's family (who has a 5th wheel) or friends, who all have pop-ups and end up staying with them. They all don't seem to get the alure of tent camping and I always feel guilty turning down their camper space for a tent. As we get older the camping seems to get more gentle.

I like cooking over a camp fire, not over a full kitchen with a microwave. Oh well. It's still always a great time. Smile

I love camping!! We actually have a few trips planned this summer. We are tent camping now, but are looking into buying a 5th wheel since we just got a new truck that has the guts to pull one! I am certainly not a rustic camper...got to have a flushing toilet and running water!!!

No, we don't camp because I am definitely not a fan! The only "camping" I can tolerate is in a rented cabin on the beach. Other than that, I'm not a camping kind of girl.
