Okay. It has been a while. Let's all check in and say hello! How are you? What is new?
Hello! We're doing well. This week we're visiting our families. Next weekend we're driving out to Albuquerque and will be there for 3 weeks. DH has a 3 week class out there for work. He's gearing up for a deployment, so we decided to have the whole family join him. I've been super busy recently with the local babywearing group - it's really taking off! Zoe is now 4.5 months and rolling around and trying to sit already. She's such a happy girl! Aiden is going through a language explosion, so he's finally starting to talk for communication! Give him a few hot wheels cars and he's happy these days.
Hope everyone else is doing well!
Hi there! We are super busy. My husband and I are both really, really busy at work. The kids are doing okay. Isaiah was doing really well until state testing started here. He is bright and I have no concerns at all. Indiana requires third grade students to pass a reading test in order to move into fourth grade (I won't share my opinions on that here). Isaiah did pass that test. I told him that he would, but he cried for days off and on because he was so worried. We are also having teasing issues again. I had another parent call me yesterday about it. His son told him that Isaiah was being teased by the same boy several times a day. I have his parent-teacher conference today, so I plan to address it then. We are considering a change in schools. Isaiah just isn't thriving in the current school environment. He is getting ready to start swimming again. He had a 6-week break between seasons. I cannot wait for him to start again. It really helped his confidence and eased some of his anxiety. Physical activity is so good for the brain.
As for the girls, we are finally potty trained...mostly. Keira still refuses to poop on the potty, but I can handle that for now. We are starting to have more accident-free days. I am not sure if it has to do with their personalities, but they wanted nothing to do with potty training. It did not matter how I reinforced it, they wanted nothing to do with it. I finally combined some reinforcers and spent my spring break in underwear boot camp. It paid off. Now, if I can get them interested in learning, we will be good to go when we hit kindergarten in a few years. The girls are starting to really get into girl stuff like princesses and dresses.
Jackie - how long will dh be deployed for? :/ Glad to hear the babywearing group is taking off!
Mel - I'm sorry I is being teased. That's great that another parent brought it to your attention! How did the conference go?
Hi Ashley! The conference went well. The teacher said that she will keep an eye on Isaiah. If I find out more, she wants to know right away. Isaiah is doing so much better this year. I am not sure that it was just counseling that made the difference. However, he is much more focused and less stressed at school. His teacher said that she rarely hears "I can't do it." He was saying that a lot last year.
How are you?
6-ish months. No idea when he's leaving. Sometime between July and March. Nothing like a small time frame, huh?
Mel, that's great the teacher is wanting to know right away and had positive things to say! The school year is almost over, right?!
Jackie, that is quite the timeframe!!!
I'm doing well. We're getting dumped on with snow again. This Winter is dragging on way too long. Our snow was almost gone, and then we got about 12" last week. Now today so far we've gotten about 5" and it's supposed to continue snowing until tomorrow. Ugh. I can't handle any more snow, it's seriously depressing. I've been trying to get my inside projects done and am preparing for a garage sale.
Don't you guys just love how I start a thread and then disappear?!? Sorry!
